Twenty-five years old and struggling to find his way in his journalism career, the young reporter who had been covering local political stories found himself smack in the middle of the world's biggest geopolitical crisis—fleeing air raids and being questioned by militants along the way.

One year later when Hamas carried out its October 7th attack, Sherman flew right back into the thick of it—running from rockets and diving into Hamas tunnels in Gaza. While shrouded in the proverbial "Fog of War," it became clear to Sherman that the world isn't as simple as he thought it was.

Great modern history

This book is very well written! I bought it as a "I don't know, I just did." I also enjoy Robert's reports on News Nation. Well, I'm very happy that I did buy this!! Robert weaves his brand new work experiences with his personal life experiences in a very insightful and engrossing manner. Additionally, it was great to have Robert narrate his book because there is an inherent emotional tone that the author reads with because it is THEIR story. The happy or funny parts have a more "light" inflection, whereas the serious or sad parts are told with a more solemn tone because Robert is imagining those memories as he reads his own words!!

I hope Robert is keeping a notebook or journal of his experiences from where he left off so he can write another reflective chapter of how his worldwide work experiences help shape how he sees the world.

Great listen and really well written
