Lemon bars, anyone?

Potts did it again... A Dr is found dead, but what happened before he died has Sabrina on the case. Wonderful book, I am again honored to be an ARC for this amazing author. Her writing style keeps getting better and better, she really is one of the most generous authors, talks to her fans like me, and is my cozy go-to, I know I will not be let down with a cookie-cutter book

Great Family Cozy Mystery

This is the 4th book in the series but a great stand alone book. I love how her books are short cozy and clean. No foul language, gore or sex.She is an amateur sleuth with a detective boyfriend who together solves murders. She has numerous suspects to interview. I love how she brings desserts into her books. The characters are believable, likable and interesting.I love that the narration maintains your interest till the end. Each book gets better. Thank you Meredith Potts for short, clean cozy mysteries for my family to share together. I enjoyed this book.

I enjoyed this!

I don’t normally read cozy murder mysteries. I’m more into dystopian and paranormal books, but Potts books have me listening and enjoying the books.

Cozy Mystery Series, Book 4

This series started off slow for me. In the first book Sabrina, the main character, struck me as quite unlikeable. Luckily,I continued to read the series and found each of the following books were better than the preceding book.

In this book, the mystery of the hypnotherapist is solved (multiple mysteries were introduced in book 1 and each book solves one of the mysteries introduced in the first book).

The main character is quite likeable in the fourth book. Although she is still as persistent as a dog after a bone, she is more connected to others feelings and does not come off as abrasive as in the early books. She assists her detective boyfriend (David) as an independent consultant to the police department. Speaking of David, his character has become more of a realistic detective as the series progresses.

I was quite surprised at the ending of the story. It was really a great twist on the story.

I enjoyed the performance of the narrator (Lisa Beacom) of books 2-5 over the performance of the narrator (Lainie Pahos) in book 1. Lisa's dramatic performance brought this story to life.

Great Read

Lemon Bars with a Side of Murder: A Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery was another great read by Meredith Potts. Sabrina discovers that a hypnotherapist is giving out illegal mind-altering pills. When she goes to confront him, he turns up dead. Sabrina starts to look into who killed him. I enjoyed listening to Sabrina's story and loved Lisa Beacom's narrations. I can't wait to read more by Meredith Potts.

A RELAXING TO READ COZY SERIES

LEMON BARS with a SIDE of MURDER is the fourth book in the Daley Buzz Cozy Mysteries. While each will probably stand on its own, it’s probably best to read each in the order of release.

I have come to the conclusion that this series is wonderful as a “my first cozy mysteries” for teens and tween.” The series is fun, easy to listen to, and easy to follow. The characters and the town are growing.

This is the series I turn to when I need a cozy, but don’t want to think too hard. That isn’t a put down. That is me, relaxing. That is me, recognizing the advantage to a simpler plot line. Too often real life is overwhelming and a simpler plot is just what I need to get through, or, as I said earlier, it becomes a great first cozy series for younger readers.

Narration: Lisa Beacom does a nice job of narrating and has a pleasant voice.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Great mystery

Sabrina is determined to find the truth about the pills the hypnotherapist is giving to their patients and that is making them feel down. But when she and David are going to confront him he is found dead. Will they solve the mystery? Well written and we’ll narrated. Meredith Potts never disappoints you.

Continued enjoyment

This series is just a lot of fun, and as I continue to listen, I get caught further in the clutches of Sabrina and David's cases. This one features the murder of the town hypnotherapist, Gregory Morton. For me, this character holds some interest, only treating men and we don't know why. His murder is unexpected and these two will not let the case go cold. Through interrogations of friends we have met and new characters, there is much information to gather. But is it enough to find the killer? Add in the secret meetings that have been taking place, Betsy and Elizabeth in the coffee shop and a side of the delicious lemon bars Sabrina is eating and you have several hours of entertainment. I am still waiting to see if we find out about Jessica, Sabrina's missing sister, so am going to dive into book 5! Lisa Beacom is the voice of this series for me, and I am enjoying her narration. With lots spunk, she keeps the level of fun high with her performance!

Lemon Bars with a Side of Murder

I just love how this ties in to the other stories in the series and answers so many previous questions. Of course all the books in the series can be read as stand alones, but they are so much more fun reading them all. Sabrina finds out what is in those "headache" pills that the hypnotherapist is prescribing to his patients, but never gets the chance to question him. But she finally gets the chance to question the "secret society" with her boyfriend by her side. And of course snickerdoodle makes an appearance in the story. He seems so sweet! The narration is fantastic, great job!
