This is book 9 in Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery series. Sabrina is there to help her cop fiancee solve murders in their town. The characters move about their lives until murder happens, then they all become suspects. The listener will follow the clues and try to solve it first. My only complaint is not needing to know everyone's exact age. It may just be me but I find it irksome.




The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Lisa Beacom.

Narration was good

A wedding is coming, and so has a murder, and no clues or suspects. A delightful cozy mystery with Sabrina and David, to figure out without clues. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion Narration by Lisa Beacom was good

Good read, plot needs development

This was a fun mystery and I really love these characters, but the plot is too simple for my liking. Performance was great.

SHORT, SWEET, FUN

CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH A SIDE OF MURDER is the ninth book in the Daley Buzz Cozy Mysteries series. While each could stand on their own, I recommend reading them all and in the order of release.

Like dessert, there always seems to be room for another Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery. They are short and sweet, fun for the whole family, and hold a charm all their own.

Of course, my favorite character is Sabrina’s Grandma. That woman can get me to smile on my worst days. I want to grow up to be her.

Narration: Lisa Beacom continues to grow as a narrator and delivers another wonderful performance as Sabrina Daley. She also presents the many other voices with confidence and skill.

Great Cozy Mystery

This is book 9 in the series but a great stand alone book. Sabrina Daily gets engages and attends a friend's wedding. She loves everything about the wedding so she wants to hire her for her wedding. Unfortunately the next day the wedding planner is found dead. This cozy mystery keeps you wondering who did it. The narration is great, the characters are believable and interesting. Meredith Potts has done it again.

Great Story and Awesome Narration!

I loved Chocolate Cake with Side of Murder! Meredith Potts is a fabulous author and I enjoyed the story. I was hooked from the start of the audible book until the end.

I loved the narration. Lisa Beacom is a wonderful narrator. I enjoyed how she changed the voice for each character and made the story flow.

I think I have found a new mystery writer to add to my list of crime fighters. And she has some thing that all women wants! CHOCOLATE!😂😂😂😂😂😂

A slight departure for Sabrina and David..........

Chocolate Cake with a Side of Murder is the ninth book in this cozy mystery series, but I think that it can easily be enjoyed without previous exposure to the main characters, Sabrina and David. This book departs slight from the usual formula in that the murder victim is well liked by everyone in her life and has no apparent enemies. When the victim's husband is murdered within two days of his wife, David and Sabrina suddenly have multiple people with a reason to want him dead. However, what is the motive for BOTH of them being murdered? It was fun watching David and Sabrina figure out the answer to that question, and I had not guessed the guilty party until the big reveal. Throw in some great interactions with Sabrina's quirky mom and grandmother as well as her fellow residents of Treasure Cove, and this is a very enjoyable cozy mystery listen.

Lisa Beacom's narration is excellent. She does not differentiate overly between characters, but I easily followed the story nonetheless. Her delivery flows very smoothly, and she uses the perfect tone for each scene in the book. Overall, she added to my listening experience.

Fun

This was a fun murder mystery. I liked the wedding/love integration in the story. If you are looking for a fun easy listen then this would be a good one.
