Publisher's Summary

Upon this rock, I will build my....

Church - the central identifying word that encompasses the entire religious spectrum. It is the buildings we go to, the sectarian ideology we adhere to, it is the core of our spiritual identity. Church - the Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ, the called-out ones. Church - Evangelical, Pentecostal, Catholic, and Non-Denominational. Church - the guardian of doctrine, the ark for lost souls, the social bastion for the righteous. We have embraced and perpetuated a culture around this single word. A word never spoken by Jesus Christ. Church - a word that should have never existed for believers.

In this book, Tim Kurtz explores the word "church". Leaving Church Becoming Ekklesia reveals what Jesus really said He would build. He never said He would build a church. Jesus is building His ekklesia. When you understand this truth, you will want to embrace your true identity in Christ, and be among those who turn the world upside down.

Buyer Beware

This is supposed to be a book about leaving the institution of church and becoming the Body, but the book starts out talking about professional ministries, leadership teams, apostolic pastoring and teaching his own content to be multiplied and followed in homes. This is an institutional church that lacks a building, not the living, breathing, Jesus led Body of Christ.

Extraordinary Book of Understanding

I love this book! I believe this book has help me and will help other believers who have left their church seeking what has been lost will get a level of understanding of Leaving Church Becoming Ekklesia. This book is a learning tool of knowledge, we have to decide if we want to be the ruling council, "if I never forever endeavor" then I won't ever learn about Ekklesia. Leaving Church Becoming Ekklesia can be scary because of your teaching of the church, but sometimes when we avail ourselves to learn, we can find things that make us knowledge too. This book is awesome Apostle Kurt, you never get too old to learn the truth.
This book get 5 stars because it is an excellent resource of learning.

Challenging thoughts on “The Church”

Tim does a fantastic job of being information and knowledge to the table. Hard part is the application and walking out new knowledge. I believe he approaches this both humbly and wisely!
