Pragmatic Tools in Breezy Package
This book is short enough that I use it as a re-centering guide, kind of like a thought provoking alternative to meditation. No matter how many times I listen to this book, I always end up reflecting on how much longer I have to go to reach the level of learned optimism I desire. But I also find the narration of this book soothing and open, opinions may vary greatly on that point.

Adapted version - not same as store bought book
Quick listen. Wish I would have known prior to buying audible that it was not the same version as printed book that I have. You need a copy of the assessment questions to determine your level of optimism and pessimism. Not sure if they are available for free on website or if buying printed book is only way to get them. I will be using the techniques.

Be Realistic
Learned Optimism is great for learning how to be realistic with your thoughts and how to react when adversity strikes. After listening to this book I believe that the negative and pessimistic thoughts that overcome my thoughts are unnecessary. Most of these thoughts and feelings can and should be viewed differently. The book changes your perspective on all things positive and negative. A great read!

Abridged
Audio books, from my limited experience, do not typically include the table of contents. I decided to look for the book and use the Look Inside option. I decided to purchase the book which will arrive later this week. Just as we notice the positive and negatives of movie versions of books, I am noticing the positives and negatives of audio versions. Each does what it can do. I have been reading and rereading Carl Sagan’s The Dragons of Eden. He speaks at length about the right and the left hemispheres of our brains. I think the audio and the written versions speak to our hemispheres in their own ways. I don’t know how to describe the audio version. It is definitely very different from the written version.
