Publisher's Summary

No books. No long lists of vocabulary. No chance of failure.

Welcome to Learn with Paul Noble—a tried-and-tested language-learning method that has been used by over one million people to speak fluently and confidently.

With Paul Noble’s simple, relaxed approach, you will learn in a way that suits you—without having to memorise long lists of words you won’t use; scribbling notes as you listen; or feeling frustrated. Instead, Paul will introduce you to the basics of Japanese and guide you through over 15 hours of everyday scenarios—from simple situations like asking for directions and eating out to talking about yourself and how to master the different tenses—that are practical, fun and applicable. Just listen, interact and learn wherever you are.

Whatever your experience with languages, whether you’re an absolute beginner or someone with basic knowledge who wants to improve their ability, this is the course to get you speaking Japanese quickly and confidently.

A native Japanese expert will help you to perfect your pronunciation as you progress through the course. You will learn a huge range of vocabulary in no time at all, and be able to quickly make your new knowledge work for you in a variety of everyday scenarios. A downloadable booklet is also included to use as a reference and revision tool.

Paul Noble left school unable to speak a language—having found that the traditional learning methods left him feeling ‘confused, incapable and unable to really say anything’. Determined that there must be a better way to learn, Paul spent years devising his own unique method of learning languages which cuts out all the grammar, all the memorisation and all the stress. He began using his method to teach in his Language Institute and, thousands of students later, he prides himself on never having had a student fail.

This download contains the entire course—Parts 1, 2 and 3. To continue your language-learning journey once you’ve completed this course, download Next Steps in Japanese with Paul Noble for Intermediate Learners—Complete Course

Great price - great content

Excellent for beginners of Japanese. Might even learn something if you already know some Japanese too. Don't let the low price deceive you - this is a very well put together course. (All of Paul Noble's courses are) They're budget Pimsleur in terms of price, but in terms of content it easily rivals Pimsleur. Definitely check out if you're looking to learn a little Japanese!

Wonderful

Perfect. If you want to learn Japanese, start here. If you bought the Japanese Rosetta Stone, and feel like it's useless, don't despair. After using this course my Rosetta stone finally makes sense, and has a lot of vocabulary that I can add in to the structures taught in this book. Japanese makes more sense now. I will be buying the next one. I will probably buy other languages as well. I hope Paul Noble creates more languages like this.

Slow Pace, Perfect for me

You won't learn many words, but the progression is logical and makes sentence structure more intuitive than in the Pimsleur program.

Another great one!

I was so glad he finally put one out for Japanese! I was hoping he was seeing as he had Chinese, and recommended it on his website. Low and behold, less than a year later, Japanese! Whether it was from suggestions or not, I was just really excited to see it within less than a year!

I’m an intermediate learner, however, never quite grasped sentence building in a meaningful way. I was missing the glue to hold all my vocabulary together and make it conversation.

That is one thing I will say about Paul’s courses, as you get practice being put on the spot an actually tHINKING about how to assemble them. You can pause anytime of course. But it’s almost the same situation as being in a real time conversation with a need a speaker, but less pressure. It’s still put your brain in the mode of “how would I say this?“ Only, you get to see an answer right away, and test how you are doing.

I love that Paul always has his explanations in English and the native speaker demonstrating. Not that non-native speakers can’t speak well. But it just helps to hear japanese without any non-native accents.

I have his books in French and one in Chinese, they are both excellent. Bought the German one but haven’t gotten started yet. Amazing series! Something to learn for every level. And tons of practice, very easy to listen to in the car.

Great series!!

Very effective learning method, and easy to keep going and finish. I only had to look up some pronunciations to make sure I was saying it right but over all love this series and definitely getting Next Steps!

Please, get this book!

This book wont teach you everything you need to know, but it will make the beginning incredibly easy. Paul Nobles method works in an seemingly miraculous way. Words and concepts simply stick and makes any other method much easier to understand.

I tried Duolingo before getting this book and I was completely lost. It was somewhat easy to remember the words on their own, but the structure was a puzzle that made phrases impossible to understand. After listening to this book, everything made sense, even in Doulingo. I certainly dont know all the words, but now the structure is there and I can fill in the spaces. That makes learning much easier.
