I loved this course. it is so easy to follow and I learned a lot. I just wish there was more!

Quite a few errors in this one…

For example: “how do you say yesterday?” At the start of chapter 47… the response was はい

Easy and fun

Easy and fun. I wish Paul Noble would continue this series of books and go deeper into the language. Alas, I shall still go on to learn more elsewhere.

Love it

It adds on to the previous course. Love both. Makes it easy to practice by giving space to test your knowledge.

Great but

This is a great way to practice speaking and does awsome job following up the first book, but in chapter 44 this a part where he will have you say a sentence that he doesn't teach you until about 3 minutes later. I've only seen this once but it's still a great listen.

Useful next steps.

I cannot comment on the first book but the second is useful for intermediate learners, providing nice coverage of verb conjugations using a few common core words like "go", "read", "buy" et cetera. Having listened to a lot of audiobooks that just through set phrases and vocabulary at you I found this book's systematic treatment pretty refreshing. One note about "pork bone" mentioned in other reviews: Tonkatsu (pork bone) ramen is an extremely popular dish here on Japan, so I think including that word is useful, though maybe a bit pedantic. I guess the only issue is that the systematic approach and short duration means that the book only covers fairly limited (though, as I said, useful) vocabulary.

Excellent method for learning a foreign language, just watch for the technical hiccough at chapter 43!

I've been thoroughly enjoying my Paul Nobel language books and have been learning Japanese on my half-hour commute to work and back each day. Please be aware, however, the order of chapters is a bit messed up in the middle, with the audio for chapter 44 coming before the audio for chapter 43. That threw me for a minute! ☺️

Excellent continuation course

This course follows the other Paul Noble Japanese course, which I recommend for anyone learning Japanese. The format in this course is the exact same. You learn some more words and different ways to express ideas. This is honestly one of the best auditory language learning programs I've ever used, especially for it's price. It's very affordable and very effective - especially if you don't know any Japanese at all.

Obviously, if you're an advanced speaker you may not get as much use out if this course. I myself am above beginner and still below intermediate, but I did still learn enough to justify listening to this the whole way through.

Definitely check it out if you've already done the first part. Enjoy!

BEST way to learn Japanese

Paul Noble is a genius!!! His patience and technique provide the best way to not only learn the language, but also provides a reasonable amount explanation for origins of words, so that it can be further applied later. I have tried so many other audibles for Japanese, and I either instantly forget what was taught the next minute, or have difficulty repeating it from the get go. Thank you so much Paul, I’m excited about using what you taught me on my upcoming trip. You made it so much fun, and I always looked forward to learning. I listened to this book and the one that precedes it. I only wish there was a follow up to this book for even further steps.
