A nice recap adapted for the times we are living

The information in this book is not new, and it's normal. The concepts of what leadership means are put in scene for the pandemic, remote working, environment.
The novelty, for me, in this book is the Appendix, which approaches a subject that is often neglected, being fit, mental and physical, to lead.

Just what I needed

Michael’s book was just what I needed to help me as I continue to navigate what’s called my new normal as a manager of a 100% remote working team
it is challenging to keep my team engaged and for me to make sure that I am giving them what they need in return
he’s given some great tips that I’m going to incorporate into how I interact with my team going forward

Still Very Relevant

While it may seem like we've all learned these lessons, we haven't really. There are employees that discovered they love working remote or have moved away that actually are quitting their jobs when employers require them to return. And yet, as employers, many of us are requiring people to come back into the office part or full time as we haven't figured out how to truly build "an Engaged, Resilient and Agile Virtual Workforce"
We might think, it's employer's market: if people don't want to work under the conditions we offer, there are plenty of others that will. Do we really want to have a team of people willing to work under our conditions, or do we want to be able to hire employees that are good enough to be able to choose how they like to work - when it is their impact to the business that really matters most?
Also, in uncertain economic times, companies are again looking to offshore some of their workforce - how do you manage them effectively? Having worked with fully remote and also with offshore teams, I find Michael's insights and suggestions relevant, applicable and helpful.
