Laurel Bryant daughter of a renowned hotel magnate, travels to Utah, with the aim of dissolving a Mail Order Bride arrangement for her maid. Upon arrival in the dusty streets of Red Rock Junction, she discovers the man she sought, Percy, a tormented soul and owner of a crumbling hotel, is oblivious to the arrangement.
In the neglected halls of the hotel, Laurel sees a glimmer of hope not only in the structure, but also in Percy's brooding eyes. Offering her expertise to rescue the hotel from decay, she ignites a flicker of warmth in Percy's world. But as their connection deepens, Percy's fears rise like a storm, driving a harsh wedge between them, shattering Laurel's heart.
Retreating to the comfort of her father's empire, Laurel resolves to erase Percy from her thoughts. Yet, in the solitude of his quiet hotel, Percy is confronted with the echoing absence of Laurel and the wreckage of his actions.
In this tale of love and redemption, can Percy overcome his demons to reclaim the love he cast aside? Is there a chance for love to rekindle in the hearts they thought were beyond repair? Or is it all too little too late? Find out in this story Historical Mail Order Bride Story from Faith Quinn.
I felt this book lacked a lot in connection between the two that are to get together. Most of their “falling in love” was after they parted.
