"Seth Numrich portrays Jamie Conklin, a young man who sees dead people and can compel them to answer questions truthfully. As a child, Jamie is able to help his mother, Tia, avoid financial ruin. But then Tia's girlfriend, an NYPD detective, asks him to force a dead man to reveal the location of a hidden bomb. This unleashes sinister forces that stalk Jamie for years. As the 20-something Jamie remembers these traumatic supernatural events, Numrich sounds appropriately melancholic and haunted. But he also illuminates moments of levity and warmth, mostly in Jamie's musings about growing up and in his relationship with his mother. Of course more solid work from King! Great Narration & Great Story! Definitely worth a listen

A believable story of seeing and talking to the recently dead

Another clever twist on a ghost story. Told from the perspective of a young adult as he looks back on growing up. Various events when his ability to talk to the newly dead and get answers altars lives.

Not what I thought

Although the book was not what I thought it was a very well written book and the story line drew me in to the extent I couldn’t walk away from it until it was finished.. another masterpiece by Stephen King!

Not your classic King

Not your classic King , but very good just the same. Seth Numrich was excellent! He definitely sold the story.

good writing and narration

The writing, as always, was good. The narrator really made the story better though. I felt like I was listening to a friend recall life stories.
