Story
Whose Boat Is This Boat? Comments That Don’t Help in the Aftermath of a Hurricane is made entirely of quotations from President Donald Trump in the wake of Hurricane Florence. It is the first children's book that demonstrates what not to say after a natural disaster. On September 19, 2018, Donald Trump paid a visit to New Bern, North Carolina, one of the towns ravaged by Hurricane Florence. It was there he showed deep concern for a boat that washed ashore. "At least you got a nice boat out of the deal," said President Trump to hurricane victims.

Whether you’re a sunling or an earthling, growing up isn’t easy. Shy nine-year-old Gustafer Yellowgold has to grapple with neighborhood bullies, an over-achieving brother, and parental expectations just like kids on Earth do. He would rather lose himself in comic books and dream the day away than make deliveries for his father’s raisin-butchering business after school. Fateful events put Gustafer at his ultimate crossroad when he sees a darker opportunity to control his own destiny on the Sun.

Story
Make sure the kids aren’t around! Just because you’re a grown-up doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the art of the children’s bedtime story. Nick Offerman presents this collection of 12 short stories written in the style of a classic kids' tale, but with a decidedly dark and adult approach. What really happened after Snow White died, from the perspective of the one medically trained dwarf? A naive wizard professor reports back from the trenches of an underprivileged school of magic. And much more!

Story
Most children go through a dinosaur phase. Learning all the tongue-twisting names, picking favourites based on ferocity, armour, or sheer size. For many kids this love of ‘terrible lizards’ fizzles out at some point between starting and leaving primary school. All those fancy names slowly forgotten, no longer any need for a favourite. For all those child dino fanatics who didn’t grow up to become paleontologists, dinosaurs seem like something out of mythology. They are dragons, pictures in books, abstract, other, extinct.

This story is cute, but let's be honest.
Cute story, but it could've been an hour of a monotone voice saying the word "chrysanthemum" over and over and I still would've bought it just knowing it's a giant middle finger to Mike Pence. 🐰

Thank you so much, John Oliver, for supporting such a worthy cause and charity (The Trevor Project). This was a great listen but I do agree with the other reviewers who said the print version is even better because of the pictures. We got one for our grandson and he loves it.

Lovely story of diversity
What made the experience of listening to A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo the most enjoyable?
Enjoyed the voices take on the characters. I could visualize each one being brave, fearful, or joyful.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Marlon Bundo. He saw inequality and helped everyone realize we are different, and that does not mean we need to be the same.
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. This is my first audiobook.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Stinkbugs are temporary.
Any additional comments?
Thank for for helping people realize and recorgnize that although we are different, we can relate to each other on a personal level.

I wasn't prepared for that!
I had heard about this book from a friend, they told me it was an empowering and motivating short story about a disadvatged couple and their struggles to be accepted, but I wasn't expecting to be taken on an emotional rollercoaster!
the story really gives you insight into the life of Marlon Bundo, the development of the characters really draws you in.

A lovely and positive story
I bought this book on audible as soon as I saw John Oliver talk about it on Last Week Tonight and I was not disappointed. The story is simple but beautiful with wonderful and positive messages about accepting everyone's differences, about love and about friendship. On top of this, Jim Parson's reading is great and all proceeds from both the print and audio versions support The Trevor Project and Aids United so I would recommend this story to anyone.

Love it.
Yes I’m an adult woman but I enjoyed this story. I also have this in hardback format. The story is good and well narrated by famous people and proceeds go to worthy causes which is one of the reasons I purchased this story on two formats. The other reason is because it gets up the nose of certain bigots...but I digress. Great story for open minded parents who want their children to be happy with themselves and know that love is love.

My best friends' kids loved it! And I did too!!!
I bought multiple hard copies and downloaded the audiobook. I listen to it on repeat when I want to cheer up and Jim Parsons does an amazing job in conveying each feeling.
I gave the hard copies to my best friends' kids as holiday gifts (they just started learning English) and they loved it! Their father was a tiny bit reluctant giving me side-eye, but who cares? He actually liked the audiobook and the hard copy in the end.
Thank you John Oliver for being an ally, thank you for the wonderful gesture and the charity part of the book and thank you to these kids that reminded me that hatred and racism are things out of the human nature, and we better stop teaching it to the purest of souls... kids!
It is a great gift 24/7/365, because it is as innocent as we used to be.
