Publisher's Summary

As a wise man once said, just because you're done with the past, doesn't mean the past is done with you.

Paul can't let an incident from his past go. When he finds out a rival detective agency played a key role in it, he drags MCM Investigations into a blood feud that they can't hope to win. Soon they're faced with the prospect of the company going out of business, and Brigit going out of her damn mind.

When long-buried bodies are discovered in the Wicklow Mountains, Bunny's past starts closing in on him, too. Who can he trust when he can't even trust himself? When he finds himself with nowhere left to run and nobody he can turn to, will the big fella make the ultimate sacrifice to protect the ones he loves?

When all that's left is the fall, the fall is everything.

And even the mighty fall.

Last Orders is the thrilling conclusion of the critically acclaimed Dublin Trilogy, which melds fast-paced action with a distinctly Irish acerbic wit. It's best enjoyed having listened to the other books in the series, particularly the prequel, Angels in the Moonlight

Solid plot line to go with memorable characters

I recommend you listen to the prequel after the first two books in the series. Save this one for last. This book won’t make much sense if you skip the prequel.

I love the plot twists and complexity of the characters. Plus a lot of really funny stuff. This series is one I will revisit in a few years.

Cartoon characters

I have read and loved previous books in this series but the plots have been increasingly over-complicated and the reading has deteriorated. Any psychiatrist who bartered sessions and then made a joke of the therapy with her patient would lose her license. But what stopped me from finishing more than 30 minutes of this book are the (again) cartoonish voices of several characters. So disappointed. I think the author and reader need to decide if these books are serious novels with a lot of wit...or silly stories with ridiculous characters. Jones’ characterization of Bunny is one of the most delightful creations in any audiobook I’ve ever listened to...but not even Bunny can save this mashup.

Fun to listen to

Bunny is an interesting man, as are his sidekicks. These books are fun to listen to while walking or shoveling snow.

Good, though the dark parts were hard for me.

Due to a recent health problem, I apparently needed light humor. There was plenty here, but the darkness infected me occasionally, making it hard going.

Completely hooked on Bunny

The series just gets better and better as plot threads from earlier books continue to weave together. Wonderful characters that I’m now totally invested in. Must move on to the next.

Laughed until I ached!

Hats off to the Caimh McDonnell for creating such vivid characters and amusing dialogue. Narrator Morgan C Jones makes his mark voicing so many oddball personalities in distinctive ways. I am sorry that I jumped into this series at Book 4, and give credit to the author for bringing the reader up to speed without punishing those who have already been following along. I enjoyed it so much I just may listen to the first 3 books. The Irish have such a way with words, whether it be in poetry, song, or slang. The slang and casual expressions in this book made me laugh until I ached,

A little too much going on.

This book could have been intertwined with the flashback book "Angels in the Moonlight," and edited down. Still good, but a little too long to tell 1 story. I enjoyed it. I don't feel like I've wasted my time. But, it might have been more exciting to add some urgency.

Wonderful!

Another great entry in the “Dublin Series”. I’ve read them all and am still on the edge of my seat awaiting the next audiobook release. Morgan C, Jones does such a great job of voicing all the characters, but especially Bunny, that the audiobook experience is just as delightful even when you know what’s coming. I highly recommend all Mr. McDonnell’s books and this is no exception. Definitely want to have read/listened to Angels in the Moonlight first.

Better and Better

This series of novels are just fantastic, and this one was no disappointment.

Crime novels with all the grit filled mean streets you could ask for, but with an abundance of characters - all begging for stand alone novels of their very own - who add wit and emotion and a painful realism to utterly bizarre events and situations.

This is laugh out loud funny, but has a solid plot, and is genuinely touching in parts too.

A Big Fluffy Bunny Tail

Bunny McGarry is one of the greats of modern comic literature and in this novel he shines forth with all his glory. Deftly plotted and beautifully read, this is a wonderful story but I can't write anymore as I am moving straight on to the 'Bunny Stateside' series and can't waste a moment. Read and you'll understand.

4 books in a trilogy

loved the narration and story of all 4 books in the trilogy. 4 books in a trilogy sums it it up nicely.

Another cracker

I just love this author/ narrator combo. I missed book 3 by accident but no matter - it worked brilliantly slightly out of sequence.
