Publisher's summary

As a wise man once said, just because you're done with the past, doesn't mean the past is done with you.

Paul can't let an incident from his past go. When he finds out a rival detective agency played a key role in it, he drags MCM Investigations into a blood feud that they can't hope to win. Soon they're faced with the prospect of the company going out of business, and Brigit going out of her damn mind.

When long-buried bodies are discovered in the Wicklow Mountains, Bunny's past starts closing in on him, too. Who can he trust when he can't even trust himself? When he finds himself with nowhere left to run and nobody he can turn to, will the big fella make the ultimate sacrifice to protect the ones he loves?

When all that's left is the fall, the fall is everything.

And even the mighty fall.

Last Orders is the thrilling conclusion of the critically acclaimed Dublin Trilogy, which melds fast-paced action with a distinctly Irish acerbic wit. It's best enjoyed having listened to the other books in the series, particularly the prequel, Angels in the Moonlight.

Solid plot line to go with memorable characters

I recommend you listen to the prequel after the first two books in the series. Save this one for last. This book won’t make much sense if you skip the prequel.

I love the plot twists and complexity of the characters. Plus a lot of really funny stuff. This series is one I will revisit in a few years.

Well written and fun

I am enjoying this author and really enjoyed this book. It is funny and sweet but also has good action sequences, intrigue and plot surprises. The characters are relatable (mostly) and the backstory behind Bunny is particularly interesting. I also like the parallel story lines between the Garda and the detective agency work. It kept me listening and the ending was satisfying.

Dark, Dark Comedy

It starts with a funeral and moves on to a mental breakdown. And it manages still to be outrageously funny within a swirl enveloping darkness. Who does that? Well...

Completely hooked on Bunny

The series just gets better and better as plot threads from earlier books continue to weave together. Wonderful characters that I’m now totally invested in. Must move on to the next.

Good, though the dark parts were hard for me.

Due to a recent health problem, I apparently needed light humor. There was plenty here, but the darkness infected me occasionally, making it hard going.
