Publisher's Summary

As a wise man once said, just because you're done with the past, doesn't mean the past is done with you.

Paul can't let an incident from his past go. When he finds out a rival detective agency played a key role in it, he drags MCM Investigations into a blood feud that they can't hope to win. Soon they're faced with the prospect of the company going out of business, and Brigit going out of her damn mind.

When long-buried bodies are discovered in the Wicklow Mountains, Bunny's past starts closing in on him, too. Who can he trust when he can't even trust himself? When he finds himself with nowhere left to run and nobody he can turn to, will the big fella make the ultimate sacrifice to protect the ones he loves?

When all that's left is the fall, the fall is everything.

And even the mighty fall.

Last Orders is the thrilling conclusion of the critically acclaimed Dublin Trilogy, which melds fast-paced action with a distinctly Irish acerbic wit. It's best enjoyed having listened to the other books in the series, particularly the prequel, Angels in the Moonlight

Solid plot line to go with memorable characters

I recommend you listen to the prequel after the first two books in the series. Save this one for last. This book won’t make much sense if you skip the prequel.

I love the plot twists and complexity of the characters. Plus a lot of really funny stuff. This series is one I will revisit in a few years.

Wonderful!

Another great entry in the “Dublin Series”. I’ve read them all and am still on the edge of my seat awaiting the next audiobook release. Morgan C, Jones does such a great job of voicing all the characters, but especially Bunny, that the audiobook experience is just as delightful even when you know what’s coming. I highly recommend all Mr. McDonnell’s books and this is no exception. Definitely want to have read/listened to Angels in the Moonlight first.

Better and Better

This series of novels are just fantastic, and this one was no disappointment.

Crime novels with all the grit filled mean streets you could ask for, but with an abundance of characters - all begging for stand alone novels of their very own - who add wit and emotion and a painful realism to utterly bizarre events and situations.

This is laugh out loud funny, but has a solid plot, and is genuinely touching in parts too.

loved all the books and they improve with each installment. the voice acting is outstanding. I hope there's more to come. 4 books in this trilogy isn't enough.

4 books in a trilogy

loved the narration and story of all 4 books in the trilogy. 4 books in a trilogy sums it it up nicely.

Another fine tale we'll performed

Last Orders is a pair of parallel stories involving the cast of previous books. Paulie and Bridget's detective agency are in a nasty turf war with rivals, whilst Bunny has some ghosts of the past return with the discovery of two bodies in Wicklow.

Colin C Jones is excellent as always. Of the three books I feel this is the weakest. It is still good. Really good. But the two stories were not interdependent. Unlike the other stories. That left me wanting more depth from the American angle. Mayer that was intentional.

Overall this is really worth listening to.

Last in the series....bereft!

Well I’ve really enjoyed all the books in the series. There is something about the Irish sense of humour and it definitely appeals to me. The fact you can have really funny events combined with a bit of a mystery and mayhem is brilliant.
I would love to know more about how the main characters get on with their lives plus the supporting characters were great too.
There’s a podcast by the author which does have some short stories and background to the books so at least there is a little more to listen to. 👍👍👍👍👍
Should also say excellent narration with the different Irish and American accents.
An excellent series....thank you Audible for the suggestion!

Listen to the prequel first

Loved the Dublin trilogy.. this was a great listen as always well written, well narrated. Was quite sad ti say goodbye to the characters as this series was a lot of fun. However before listening to this book get the prequel first as you’ll miss a lot of you don’t.. well worth it

I'll just read the book instead..Loved all the others on this 'trilogy' , but the narration I found too hard to listen to, so I gave up
