Story
The world’s greatest bodybuilder. The world’s highest-paid movie star. The leader of the world’s sixth-largest economy. That these are the same person sounds like the setup to a joke, but this is no joke. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger. And this did not happen by accident. Arnold’s stratospheric success happened as part of a process. As the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem-solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back. All of it guided by the one lesson Arnold’s father hammered into him above all: be useful.

His ability to adapt to change was demonstrated when he became the executive producer and star of Power, a high-octane, gripping crime drama centered around a drug kingpin's family. The series quickly became "appointment" television, leading to Jackson inking a four-year, $150 million contract with the Starz network - the most lucrative deal in premium cable history.

Meet a genuine American folk hero cut from the homespun cloth of America's heartland: Sam Walton, who parlayed a single dime store in a hardscrabble cotton town into Wal-Mart, the largest retailer in the world. The undisputed merchant king of the late 20th century, Sam never lost the common touch. Here, finally, inimitable words. Genuinely modest, but always sure of his ambitions and achievements. Sam shares his thinking in a candid, straight-from-the-shoulder style. In a story rich with anecdotes and the "rules of the road" of both Main Street and Wall Street, Sam Walton chronicles the inspiration, heart, and optimism that propelled him to lasso the American Dream.

As he grew old and aware of his dwindling time on this Earth, the Wealthy Gardener began to share his hard-earned wisdom with the financially troubled in his community, patiently mentoring those who asked for his practical advice on the ways of prosperity.

Story
Endzone tells the story of how college football's most successful and respected program nearly lost it all in less than a decade and entirely of its own doing. It is a story of hubris, greed, and betrayal, a tale more suited to Wall Street than the world's top public university.

Story
Tony Dungy's words and example have intrigued millions of people, particularly following his victory in Super Bowl XLI, the first for an African-American coach. How is it possible for a coach—especially a football coach—to win the respect of his players and lead them to the Super Bowl without the screaming histrionics, the profanities, the demand that the sport come before anything else? How is it possible for anyone to be successful without compromising faith and family?

Story

Clarinda, Iowa, population 5,000, sits two hours from anything. There, between the cornfields and hog yards, is a ball field with a bronze bust of a man named Merl Eberly, a baseball whisperer who specialized in second chances and lost causes. The statue was a gift from one of Merl's original long-shot projects, a skinny kid from the ghetto in Los Angeles who would one day become a beloved Hall of Fame shortstop: Ozzie Smith.

Larry Miller left it all on the field
I can’t remember the last time I was so inspired by singular individual; especially one began in such ordinary circumstances. But true meaning to the phrase “excellence in the ordinary“. Eventually nothing about what Larry did was ordinary. Personality, his generosity, and his drive are some of the attributes that I wish to emulate most. I love the different voices for the different stories. I love the heart and soul that was poured into this book. Truly a worthwhile read!

I can’t give this book enough stars.
I’ll read this book again. And again. I cannot recommend this book enough. This very personalized book conveys many different aspects of this gentleman’s character, both business and personal and as a part of the society around him which was affected by his decisions and accomplishments. Periodically a book with cast a brief light on a point of view and way of looking at life that I’d not previously considered/observed. This is definitely one of those books. I bought it for entrepreneurship but ultimately I think it’s a book that provides an example of what is possible and, therefore, a book with the capacity to educate someone in personal growth and development. Audible doesn’t seem to carry the book “Driven,” the autobiography of Larry Miller, but I’m going to Amazon to find the book because I strongly believe that here indeed is a life worth studying. I bought this book, I read it (listened to it), I’m glad I bought it, I’d buy it again, I strongly recommend it. I’m a little older (approaching 60) and not typically easily emotional, but there were a few times when this book made me cry; especially the last chapter written by his wife (the book was produced by his son). This book gives an example of a life well lived and his impact, both dramatic and subtle, on the community (in Utah), the nation, and with reverberations around the world. I wish I could’ve met him.

Larry H Miller A Legacy worth learning from.
I have read and listened to lots of books on personal development, leadership, and business. None of them has made me take stock of my life like this one. Grateful to a family that is willing to share the whole truth and be so transparent. Now it is up to you and me to create our legacy.

Insights into the life of a unique man.
I learned about business and life reading this book and was touched by its authenticity and honesty. If you wish you could have gotten advice from the great community builder of our time, odds are the advice you want is in this book. Humbled that it’s offered at so little cost but that’s just like the Miller family. Thanks for inviting us to share these moments with you.
