Publisher's summary

Paul Noble is a genius with a higher IQ than Einstein. Despite this, he still struggled with language learning at school. He found himself feeling "confused, incapable, and unable to really say anything". As a result of his negative early experiences, Paul has come up with a groundbreaking new method of language teaching that removes the need for months of study. With Paul Noble, everyone really can speak a language.

Part 1 of the course covers:

  • Language ground rules
  • Asking questions
  • Introduction to verbs

At the hotel, a native-speaking German expert helps Paul to deliver the course and to perfect your pronunciation. No complicated grammatical explanations, no rote memorisation, no writing - no stress. Learn over 6,000 words in no time at all and - most importantly - learn how to make your new vocabulary work for you. A downloadable booklet is also included to use as a reference and revision tool.

Learn German with Paul Noble combines an exciting, new, nontraditional approach to language learning with the easy, relaxed appeal of an audio-only product. No books. No rote memorisation. No chance of failure.

You only need number1

What did you love best about Learn German with Paul Noble, Part 1?

This series is awesome. Paul Noble rocks at teaching n00bs like myself. By the end of this, you will be amazed at how much you can understand and say. HIGHLY recommend.

BUT BE WARNED! You only need this one. DO NOT WASTE money on the other 3, becuase they are just the first one broken into three parts. They are the exact same so save your money and only buy number 1!

Any additional comments?

AWESOME! Sehr Gut!

The most essential tool for learning.

While I have completed a good 30 or so hours of Rosetta Stone and am deep in the level two area, I still haven't the foggiest on grammar or how to string a series of words together to form a sentence. While it is true I can point at a picture of a green apple and tell you what it is in German, I wasn't able to say, can I have a green apple and so on. Sure I had a step up going into this as a knew a great deal of words I still had no idea how they worked. Paul Noble uses a simple approach that I practice while I run and walk around in my day and for the first time, I can actually speak German. Can I move there today and fit right in. No, but can I say simple sentences that I couldn't before. Yes. Have I been able to form sentences when I wanted to answer someone. Yes. So, overall, to me, there is not a better learning solution than this.

Repetition works

Would you listen to Learn German with Paul Noble, Part 1 again? Why?

Yes. Necessary to have repetition to learn a language

Would you recommend Learn German with Paul Noble, Part 1 to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes. It works. By the end, German words and phrases have been burned into your brain.

Have you listened to any of Paul Noble’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

N/A

Any additional comments?

If you buy this Part 1, don't bother with Part 2, and perhaps 3 and 4 as well. Part 2 is a repeat of what was learned in Part 1. Although once you buy Part I you do not need to buy the other Parts, I was disappointed that I could not continue on in the series and learn more vocabulary. Instead, I had to switch to another language system.

This is brilliant!!

I always wanted to learn German but have heard horrors stories of hours upon hours spent studying vowels sounds and conjugations. This condenses it and makes it so user friendly. Take the plunge, you will not regret it, Great price too!!

I want to learn more than what he taught me!

Would have liked more Info and less repetition. It's an audiobook, I can do the repetition myself.

Phenomenal learning style.

I am largely self taught:Rosetta and other audio CDs and I spent a week in Berlin at a German language school. This was the BEST I have encountered. Word relationships make everything easy.

Excellent for Self-Teaching Beginners

What made the experience of listening to Learn German with Paul Noble, Part 1 the most enjoyable?

This is the best program for gaining a firm foundation in the German language when you are teaching yourself. I've tried other audio lessons and podcasts, but even though they say they are for beginners they advance too quickly and the learner (me) gets frustrated and wants to quit. With this program I'm learning German without thinking about it and it is "clicking" with me as never before. Sure, you are not going to be fluent even after going through all four parts of this program, but you will have a solid grip on the language for further study.

This guy is incredible

If you could sum up Learn German with Paul Noble, Part 1 in three words, what would they be?

Completely new way to learn that is fantastic! You first learn to speak German with the English equivalents. So you are speaking German in English. You don't even know you are speaking German but you are. You learn sentence structure first, THEN you slowly learn real German words. You get comfortable with speaking German before you deep dive. This is perfect for me.

What other book might you compare Learn German with Paul Noble, Part 1 to and why?

Unique

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Don't buy any other book, this is the one.

This man DELIVERS! (but only Part 1)

It was perfect for my introduction to the sounds and some of the basic building blocks of sentence structure in the German language. This is a beginners course and covers a very narrow scope of vocabulary and grammar. But I'm so surprised at how much I learned and more important, it set the stage for my continued study, as the course was fun and so damned effective! The instructor is truly a genius. By the end of this program I was busting out very long sentences with virtually no effort at all. I highly recommend this program to anyone who has an interest in German. Loved it!!!

But beware! Do NOT purchase Part Two of this series as it is a total rip-off! After being excited by the amount I had learned in this part, I eagerly dove into Part Two. At first, I thought they were just reviewing material from Part One, then soon realized there was absolutely NO new material in the second book--NONE. They even use the exact same recordings! It is truly shameful and the book really should be pulled from Audible's library. So even if you loved this book, DO NOT purchase Part Two unless you are simply hell-bent on throwing money in the trash.

Good for travelers

Any additional comments?

If you're going to Germany, this is an excellent way to get acquainted with the language. The repetition really drills the words into you.
