Publisher's Summary

This program includes an introduction read by Michael Wolff, as well as archival recordings of speeches made by Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and Donald Trump.

“We won. Won in a landslide. This was a landslide.” (President Donald J. Trump, January 6, 2021)

We all witnessed some of the most shocking and confounding political events of our lifetime: the careening last stage of Donald J. Trump’s reelection campaign, the president’s audacious election challenge, the harrowing mayhem of January 6, the buffoonery of the second impeachment trial. But what was really going on in the inner sanctum of the White House during these calamitous events? What did the president and his dwindling cadre of loyalists actually believe? And what were they planning?

Michael Wolff pulled back the curtain on the Trump presidency with his number one best-selling blockbuster Fire and Fury. Now, in Landslide, he closes the door on the presidency with a final, astonishingly candid account.

Wolff embedded himself in the White House in 2017 and gave us a vivid picture of the chaos that had descended on Washington. Almost four years later, Wolff finds the Oval Office even more chaotic and bizarre, a kind of Star Wars bar scene. At all times of the day, Trump, behind the Resolute desk, is surrounded by schemers and unqualified sycophants who spoon-feed him the “alternative facts” he hungers to hear - about COVID-19, Black Lives Matter protests, and, most of all, his chance of winning reelection. Once again, Wolff has gotten top-level access and takes us front row as Trump’s circle of plotters whittles down to the most enabling and the president reaches beyond the bounds of democracy as he entertains the idea of martial law and balks at calling off the insurrectionist mob that threatens the institution of democracy itself.

As the Trump presidency’s hold over the country spiraled out of control, an untold and human account of desperation, duplicity, and delusion was unfolding within the West Wing. Landslide is that story as only Michael Wolff can tell it.

A Macmillan Audio production from Henry Holt and Company

“First there was Fire and Fury, then there was Siege, now there is Landslide. The third is the best of the three, and that is saying plenty.” (The Guardian)

“Two new books about the final year of Donald J. Trump’s presidency are entering the cultural bloodstream. The first, Landslide, by the gadfly journalist Michael Wolff, is the one to leap upon.... Landslide is a smart, vivid and intrepid book. He has great instincts. I read it in two or three sittings. It’s the book that this era and this subject probably deserve.” (Dwight Garner, The New York Times)

The tea………

I’ve never delightedly giggled so much. I mean this was an entire movie in my mind! Beautifully written, the closest to a fly in the wall as I believe I’ll ever get.

Mentally exhausting

This is is very good book centered on the final chaotic days of the Trump Presidency. It is very well written, I also enjoy the narration a must with audiobooks..
However, just listening to these events again can be really draining. Interesting to see what future generations would think of this book.

this book provides a clear insight into Trump

More than any other book that I've come across about Trump or the Trump presidency, this book really demonstrates how utterly removed from reality Trump is as a person.

Many other books tend to give accounts of damage control and behind-the-scenes political maneuvering.
Thiis one does all of that, but manages to also almost force the reader to imagine the political landscape through Trump's own eyes.

I found myself constantly reminded of George Costanza's advice to Jerry that a lie isn't really a lie if you believe it.

Time and time again, the point is made, demonstrated, and proven, that a combination of Trump's narcissism and his equally unhinged advisors, led to a situation where he believed his own lies fully and entirely.

The fact that someone so divorced from reality still has any power at all should terrify everyone.
It certainly frightens me.

Exhaustively sourced. Enthusiastically voiced

I can’t stop listening. It’s compelling because it’s soundly sourced and compellingly written. And the reading emphasizes the horror, the laughs, the pathos. I can’t turn it off.

Best of the 3 Trump books! Loved it!

This book is scary as hell. I knew it as bad, but nothing prepares you for the chaos and ineptness of the Trump administration, or lack of thereof.
Narrator does an excellent job. Worth the credit. Enjoy!

Another whack at the former guy

A pretty good book if you’re into dissing DJT one more time. Very well written narrative of mostly known events with a bunch of new juicy tidbits and behind the scenes nuttiness. The fact that Mr. T continues to be interviewed by Mr Wolff is just more proof of his clueless narcissism. Best of all was the narration: fast paced at just the right times and excellent interpretations of all the characters notably the f-bombing January 6 rioters.
