Publisher's Summary

Lady Sophie Windham has maneuvered a few days to herself at the ducal mansion in London before she must join her family for Christmas in Kent. Suddenly trapped by a London snowstorm, she finds herself with an abandoned baby and only the assistance of a kind, handsome stranger standing between her and complete disaster.

With his estate in ruins, Vim Charpentier sees little to feel festive about this Christmas. His growing attraction for Sophie Windham is the only thing that warms his spirits - but when Sophie's brothers whisk her away, Vim's most painful holiday memories are reawakened.

Critic Reviews

"Supremely sexy, emotionally involving, and graced with well-written dialog, this gently paced, baby-centered story is a fascinating, enjoyable read and nicely connects with the author's earlier books." ( Library Journal)

I like Grace Burrowes but.......

I like Grace Burrowes' books but this would be much better narrated by a woman instead of a man. Other than that I enjoyed the book.

Lovely

Did not like the Irish accent for the one brother but overall a very good narration. Story was sweet and heart warming. I liked that both hero and heroine were so adorably good. Sigh worthy

Jarring Accent Error

Dear James Langton:

You've done a wonderful job narrating so many of Grace Burrowes' books, that I am sorry to tell you that there is one misstep in your performance of this series that is becoming very difficult to overlook: The character of Devlin St. Just was raised in the Windham Ducal household, and not in Ireland as you must believe given the accent you use for him. In fact, St. Just should be read with the same English accent as the rest of his family!

As a fan, it's very distracting to listen to a book when the wrong voice is being used for the voice of a well-loved character, much less an important accent to the period. Such a glaring error pulls the listener right out of the book.

Perhaps the the notes you received from Tantor detailing the bio of the character, focused on the Irish half of his ancestry, but failed to emphasize the way in which he was raised, (i.e., the privileged son of a Duke -- and not a poor, half-Irish bastard). I can see how that might happen, but there are so many more books to read in this series, and St. Just will be in most of them! I would hate to see you continue to read this character with the wrong accent, and thereby spoil all of your effort, as well as the books.

You are a wonderful narrator who clearly puts a great deal of heart into his work, so I feel sure you will wish to know about this unfortunate mistake.

Your's truly,

bsg
