Publisher's summary

In Volume 45, it seems that Walt is fighting one battle after another with the mob.

First, Walt is dragged into the political arena to oppose a candidate for city council with ties to the Russian mob.

The moment that problem is resolved, Walt receives a frantic plea from Carmine Marchetti, the godfather of the Kansas City mafia, asking him to help fend off mobsters from Chicago who have come to take control of his operation.

Reluctantly, Walt agrees to help Carmine, unaware that his assistance will result in heart-wrenching tragedy for himself and his family.

Loved it

The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook with no expectation of a review. This book was jam packed with action. There's a major twist late in the book that turns someone into a vigilante. I'm looking forward to the next book to see where things go from here.

Worth the Wait!!!

Lady Justice and the Mob
(Lady Justice #45)
by Robert Thornhill

It has been a while that we have waited for this next Lady Justice book.
It was well worth the wait.

In this edition Walt Williams is convinced he should run for city council. The opposition is backed by the Russian Mob, while Carmine Marchetti and other friends back Walt. Even after Walt drops out of the race he finds himself tangling with the Russians.

There are some unexpected turns that had my jaw dropping to the floor.

The narration was well done. George Kuch is a familiar voice in unfamiliar times. He brought lots of feelings to life in this episode. The characters were well portrayed.

As always looking forward to whatever comes next. Thank You, Bob and George for the entertainment.

different than usual

family, family-dynamics, law-enforcement, grief, grieving, senior-citizens, private-investigators, the-mob, multigenerational, murder, murder-investigation, friendship, sardonic, serial-murder, situational-humor, stalker, support-system, survivor's guilt*****

I can't believe that it's been this long since I first met Walt and the cast of many! But even if it was the first, I wouldn't have felt lost, only nosy to see what I might have missed laughing with . This one has more action topics than most: an invite into city politics, the local mob, the Chicago mob, the Russian mob, tragedy and hilarity. Never a dull moment even though the book is relatively short. It isn't Happy Ever After, but the Good Guys win in the end (thanks be!).
George Kuch continues as the understated, gravelly voiced, excellent narrator.

I’m still reeling from this one

No spoilers will be given… I still can’t believe where this story went. The results will definitely shape any future stories in the Lady Justice series.

Robert Thornhill has penned some of my absolute favorite characters. After 45 books, I feel like each and every character is a part of my extended family. Thank you for the many hours of entertainment.

The Lady Justice series wouldn’t be the same without George Kuch’s voice talent. He has consistently brought these stories to life.

Great Short Series

I absolutely love this series as they have serious situations with humor but no humor in this one but still great. In this book Walt is recommended to run for city council and the sh’t hits the fan and has to deal with several mobs. I love all of the characters especially Walt and his extended family. Great narration as usual. Highly recommend if you enjoy short mysteries. Keep them coming! I was given this free audiobook by author and have voluntarily left this review. THANK YOU!!!!

Good story

without a spoiler I really didn't like what happened in this book. It left me in disbelief. Other than that, the rest was great. Typical Walt stuff. I was given this free review copy and have voluntarily given this review.

"Would everyone like a warm cookie?"

This is no. 45 in this marvellous thought provoking and humerous series of stand alone stories about Walt Williams, now 77, who successfully joined the police for five years after retiring, and now runs a low key detective agency with his brother-in-law. There are several interconnected stories, as usual, and all of the gang of his curious family and friends make brief appearances. But this is a story with a difference, one which will radically affect any future books.
My deep thanks to the rights holder of Lady Justice and the Mob who freely gifted me with a complimentary copy of this excellent series, again narrated by the excellent George Kuch.
A must read

Book 45

I can't believe the path this book took. I kept thinking at some point the plot would change and this action would all be a big mistake. To say book 45 is very different from the other 44 books is an understatement but it is still Walt and his crazy crew. I don't see where book 46 will take us but I will be along for the adventure. I will say that at the time of the writing of this book our country is trying to heal from the grief caused by the pandemic and as Robert Thornhill has shown he is very good at showcasing current topics. George Kuch is again the voice of Walt Williams and he as always is excellent.
