Publisher's summary
Ellwood Manor, Rose Glen, West Virginia, 1864
Young Lady Adaline's days fluctuate between tea parties in the rose garden at Ellwood Manor and attending to wounded Union soldiers injured in the Civil War. When the town's hospital, plantation homes, and government buildings, overflow as makeshift hospitals, Adaline's mother, Lady Ellwood, offers Ellwood Manor as a convalescent home to recovering soldiers.
Adaline and her best friend, Maggie, tend to the men by cheering them with reading Charles Dickens stories and writing letters home for them. But when they realize most of the men will be spending Thanksgiving away from home, they offer to put on an Autumn Ball and Feast for the soldiers and local ladies.
Love, heart-break, and good-will join hands in this heart-warming holiday story.

Lovely Historical Romance
This was a nice historical, romance listen that takes place during the magical holiday time. If you are a fan of Renee Riva's other stories, it has a very similar style. The ending was also a surprise for me.
Susan did a nice job with the narration. I could of used slightly more distict voices between some of the females.

Love and loss...
Lady Adaline's Autumn Ball (Pine Cottage Series) by Renee Riva and narrated by Susan J. Iannucci is heartwarming and heartbreaking tale of love and loss- a reminder of what happens when choices are made for us. Not sure what I can say that the summary hasn’t, so if you are looking for a short romance set in the Civil War time, give this one a listen. This isn’t my typical listen and I enjoyed it.
Parental guidance/trigger warnings: It’s set during the time of the Civil War- soldiers, war, slavery, death (Scarlet fever), plantation mention. No swearing.

Nice
I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I enjoyed this short story and was glad to see that certain rich people are ordinary. Also to the ending I was so glad for one of the heroines but sad for the other. I hope that her story is the next book, The descriptions were great and helped me to know more about things that happened during the Civil War.

Lady Adaline’s Autumn Ball
A sweet novella about the young ladies who stepped up the nurse injured soldiers. Not only are they concerned with their physical healing, but their mental healing as well. What better way to lift their spirits than to throw an Autumn Ball.
I enjoy Renee Riva’s sweet, wholesome stories. This book was a reminder that not every person gets their happily ever after...

Great Read
Lady Adaline's Autumn Ball was a great quick read by Renee Riva. Lady Adaline splits her days between having tea parties and helping wounded union soldiers that were injured during the Civil War. All of the hospitals, homes and government buildings overflow with injured soldiers. Adaline and her friend Maggie decide to throw an Autumn Ball and Feast for the soldiers because they cannot be with their families for Thanksgiving. I really enjoyed reading Maggie and Adaline's story of finding love with two of the soldiers and hoping to be able to keep their love. This was a great read by Renee Riva and I can't wait to read more by the author.

Delightful characters and sweet plot
I enjoyed this historical fiction which takes place in the time of the civil war. Delightful characters and sweet plot that keeps you listening.
