Great Read

Lady Adaline's Autumn Ball was a great quick read by Renee Riva. Lady Adaline splits her days between having tea parties and helping wounded union soldiers that were injured during the Civil War. All of the hospitals, homes and government buildings overflow with injured soldiers. Adaline and her friend Maggie decide to throw an Autumn Ball and Feast for the soldiers because they cannot be with their families for Thanksgiving. I really enjoyed reading Maggie and Adaline's story of finding love with two of the soldiers and hoping to be able to keep their love. This was a great read by Renee Riva and I can't wait to read more by the author.

Heartwarming and Breaking

I received a free copy of the audiobook for an honest and voluntary review.
The civil war and the injuries that took a toll on families and soldiers. Adaline and Maggie become friends nursing soldiers and each fall in love.
This is the heartwarming part and the heartbreak...please have a follow up on Adeline!
The narrator did an excellent job on the story

Nice

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I enjoyed this short story and was glad to see that certain rich people are ordinary. Also to the ending I was so glad for one of the heroines but sad for the other. I hope that her story is the next book, The descriptions were great and helped me to know more about things that happened during the Civil War.

Good Historical Novella

Good Historical novella. The characters are great, and the story is beautifully written. I loved Adaline and Maggie's story. Susan J. Iannucci did a good narration.

Heartwarming story

Touching and wholesome story of young women who put their heart into helping wounded soldiers. Very good storyline but I didn't feel the narrator was right for this book. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.

Replace the narrator please!!!

I could hear every breath the narrator took, and I know it sounds petty, but I had to stop listening after a few minutes because it was driving me crazy.

I don’t remember if I liked the story or not because I was so zoned in on the narrators heavy breathing and British accent.

I gave the story 5 stars, not knowing if the story itself is any good, but I don’t want the bad narration to hurt a potentially talented author.

Get a new narrator please so I can try listening again and I’ll change my review!

Lady Adaline’s Autumn Ball

A sweet novella about the young ladies who stepped up the nurse injured soldiers. Not only are they concerned with their physical healing, but their mental healing as well. What better way to lift their spirits than to throw an Autumn Ball.

I enjoy Renee Riva’s sweet, wholesome stories. This book was a reminder that not every person gets their happily ever after...

This was my first listen of one of Susan J. Iannucci’s narrations, and I thought she did a nice job.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Unique storyline

I enjoyed this audiobook! It was an interesting tale of wounded soldiers and the women who volunteer to nurse them. A Ball is held to raise spirits, and a couple of budding romances arise.
I would have preferred a different narrator, her voice just didn’t seem right for this story, but overall it was good! I found the story line very unique.
