Return now to a kingdom in constant peril: a scarred land, both magical and wonderous. New York Times bestselling author Raymond E. Feist continues his extraordinary Riftwar Legacy with a sweeping tale of conflict and intrigue. The vile sorcerer Sidi sets the murderous pirate Bear upon the high seas in pursuit of the kingdom's most holy object, the miraculous Tear of the Gods. And if it falls to Sidi, the future will hold naught but unending night.

The race is on to rescue the remarkable artifact from Bear and his despicable master. But it will take greater-than-human swiftness, courage, and skill to prevail, for the mysterious criminal known as the Crawler is preparing to wreak havoc to fulfill his secret agenda. The fate of an imperiled world is in flux, as dark creatures gather to hasten the destruction of Squire James and his companions and bring about the total corruption of the Tear of the Gods.

Probably the worst book of Feist's career. Complete waste. Not even a slight contribution to broader story. We as readers need to stop demanding new material and let him write on his own time. This is what happens when a writer has to publish on a schedule. Poorly written hurry up filler stories. King does the same thing and it's just irritating at this point.

One night of roleplaying written down.

story was good, sort of rushed but still good. narrator seemed as if he was speed reading and the music in-between chapters sucked. Also the echo was not needed.

good story not so good narrator

Overall I enjoyed the story of this book, as I do most by this author, but this one and the krondor the Betrayal both read like D&D module that someone has played and there telling me about the adventure or an adventure I could set up for my own campaign. It does give some nice backstory for some characters play large parts later books. The person reading it has a lovely voice but the included reverb was of noxious. In my opinion it is over performed and overly dramatic.

Good book,overly performed.

I am a pretty big fan of Raymond E. Feist. I've read several if his books several times over. All his books are good however if I had to choose one to give up it would be this book I think. It just doesn't have the same substance as his other books.
The narrator doesn't fit the characters. I much prefer the narrator used in his other audio books such as a Kings Buccaneer or Shadow of a Dark Queen. I really did not like the "Sherlock styled narrative".

Not his best but good...

cheap story, not great narration. annoying music/dramatization. Worst of Feist books for sure. Don't buy

Probably the worst of all the Feist books. I liste
