Brilliantly constructed.

This book has the best first person description of what it's like to live in a toxic marriage. It also has a fantastic scientific mystery, and just enough physical excitement.

Great Characters, Great Story

I have only recently discovered Bujold, and only in the context of her audiobooks, but I have found all of her works to be entertaining and sophisticated works for the genre. Komarr brings a new twist to the Miles saga, by telling half of the story from the point of view of Ekaterina, a female co-equal protagonist. Bujold's strength is no doubt her memorable and quirky characters, and here she develops not just more Miles, but a totally new character as well. And she throws in a mystery that drives the plot along very effectively. No doubt this is not her best novel, but as an audiobook, with a narrator who is totally in command of the material, this is a terrific "listen."

Great book

I've enjoyed her books and this one was the first where Miles acted as a Lord Auditor in full. I had a great time listening.

if you are looking for a great series try this one out. But start at the begining

an outstanding series of sci-fi

I cannot put this series down I am listening to them obsessively. This is one of the best series I've ever read and Grover gardener's narration is sublime

McMasters' story telling seems to improve with time. The accuracy of the details has always amazed me.

Even weak Bujold is Great...

Bujold is one of my favorite modern Sci Fi authors. Her characterization is very strong, with wit, intelligence, good stories, and even some romance ??? I think. Komarr is no exception. Komarr has less action than almost any of the other Vorkosigan novels, yet it had enough for me. It is truly remarkable that Bujold has written so many good books. Komarr has a nice little mystery and some action, but it is mostly character development and relationship building. This was not my favorite Bujold novel, but it was nevertheless superior to almost any other Sci Fi out there.

Beautifully read, wonderfully written.

I would not start this series with this book- being well into the thick of a story. Each book can be read on it's own, but I prefer to start with the beginning. That being said, the Vorkosigan Saga is one of my all time favorite Sci-fi stories. Grover Gardner is a fantastic reader and is simply a joy to listen to.

My favorite Miles V Story

I'm an avid fan. I think I like this novel (and the next A Civil Campaign) are the best for long term fans. Perhaps it's because Miles finally finds his Ekaterine. Excellent
