The journey with Eileen and Kin has been a surprisingly engaging listen, even in virtual voice format. Still, I can’t help but imagine how much more powerful the story could be if their individual personalities were more distinctly developed. Giving each character a unique voice and emotional texture would completely shift the tone and deepen the narrative. But it is what it is—and that’s just part of the experience when you’re listening to audiobooks. You take what’s given, and sometimes you have to fill in the emotional gaps yourself.
