Publisher's Summary

She’s a single mom holding on to her job. He’s a career man focused on his business. Can they put the past behind them in order to build a future together?

When Filipe Romano arrives at the SoliMar beach resort, his newest acquisition, he plans to complete renovations quickly before moving on to his next property. But a stumbling block arises when he discovers Celeste, the sister of his deceased best friend, is an employee at the resort’s aquarium, which he intends to sell. To complicate matters more, he has unresolved feelings for Celeste and blames himself for the accident that killed her brother.

Celeste Ferreira, a stressed single mom, needs a miracle. Without any means to start over, she clings to the job she loves as aquarist at the SoliMar Aquarium. After she discovers the new owner is Filipe, an old family friend, their history makes it hard for Celeste to trust him, especially with her position in peril.

Though closing down the aquarium makes good financial sense, Filipe finds himself reluctant to disappoint Celeste and decides to help her with the repairs for the upcoming inspection. But is working side by side enough to forget the past and build a new future, or is the pain between them too deep to move on?

The Romano Family series follows the stories of the Romano cousins of northern Portugal as they find love and their happily-ever-afters. Each book may be heard as a stand-alone.

A Short, yet Sweet Romance!

The plot was interesting with many unexpected twists and turns, although some were easy to figure out. But to put it plainly, the audiobook was too short. I liked the main characters and their interactions, but the storyline could've been more substantial. Just not enough there to sink your teeth into. The narrator was good with a few questionable pronunciation of names. To reiterate, simple, nice, but absolutely too short!

My favorite Romano book

Kiss Me at Midnight is a wonderful second chance romance. It’s the warm-hearted story of Filipe and Celeste. I love Lucinda's writing style - she writes beautifully! Mary Jane Conlon is a great narrator for this audiobook. I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

(4.5 stars) - Another gem!

Filipe & Celeste have history together, but not all of it good. Filipe ghosted Celeste years ago when she really needed him. Now, he wants to make it up to her, but she's not sure she can trust him again.

I was so pleased to see "Primo" finally get his happily-ever-after. And Celeste her Prince Charming.

The Romano series remains one of my favorites. Lucinda Whitney has a gift for writing popular but well-used tropes in a fresh, original way

*Clean romance level: sweet kisses

[The narrator does an excellent job with emoting naturally, distinguishing the characters' voices, and the Portuguese accents!]

Felipe and Celeste

This review was designed so it would not give away the plot. I wanted to give the reader some facts to judge whether or not they would want to listen/read this story.

What I enjoyed and liked about this audiobook:

• Felipe and Celeste were characters that you wanted to discover more about as you read this story.
• Celeste's son Lucius added depth and heart to the storyline.
• The descriptions of locations and emotions were well done, easy to visualize, and to feel. I felt a part of the scenes.
• The setting of this story at the SoliMar Aquarium added uniqueness. There are not many stories set at an aquarium.
• The pacing of this story was excellent. It was not too fast nor too slow, and it flowed smoothly.
• There were twists and turns to the plot that made it unpredictable.
• This was a feel good story that left you with a smile on your face at its end.
• This was a clean read and I appreciate that.
• I really enjoyed the job the narrator did to bring this story alive.

At my request, I was given a free copy of this audiobook from the author. I have voluntarily left my review and my opinions were my own.

Sweet story about second chances

A story about a second chance at love. Clean and sweet with a cute child in the mix plus a satisfying comeuppance for a manipulative side character. A delightful listen. Narrator was excellent with Portuguese names and places. The slight accent was perfect.
