A uniquely KILLER read

Claire’s Killer Story is the kind of book that grabs you and doesn’t let go. Sort of like the show she produced for - 48 Hours. She names names and spills the behind-the-scenes drama of true crime journalism, giving the whole thing a level of authenticity that’s rare. You can tell she’s lived every word of this story, and that makes it all the more fascinating.

She also doesn’t hold back about the struggle — Working in a tough industry and a “newsroom” that seemed pretty toxic. The way she fought through all of that, while staying focused on the work she believed in, is inspiring. And then there’s her personal life—the sweet way she talks about being being a mom and the support and appreciation for her husband, Riley, adds such a great contrast to the cutthroat world she was navigating. Seeing her shift from a passionate journalist to a sharp, strategic executive producer—handling brutal negotiations, power plays, and straight-up misogyny—makes for an incredible read. And let’s not forget she was also building trust with actual killers in the process. The whole thing is just wild and makes for a layered and entertaining perspective.

But my favorite part? How she subtly but honestly talks about her own mental health and the power of setting boundaries—even when she was at the peak of her career. And honestly, I don’t think she’s peaked yet. This book is a killer story in more ways than one. I give it 5 stars 🌟

Claire gives us an inside view to true crime TV. What an interesting life and I’m thankful to know her!! Great job Claire!

Hope This Is A First Not An Only

Cannot wait for whatever she pursues next. Well written and well narrated! Absolutely loved the insight into true crime tv!

I hope it’s not her only book

Story was incredible. Author narrating is always hit or miss, but in this case it was perfect. The combining of a memoir with interspersed details of true crime cases she covered was really fun. I hope this author has written, or plans to write, more books, because this one definitely left me wanting more!

Not for me.

This book was discussed when St Amant was a guest on a podcast I enjoy. While usually I enjoy memoirs, the author felt disingenuous and misleading. The further I read in the book, the more I felt like she was slimy and back stabbing. This may be the unfortunate reality of true crime, however, associating with some of these actions is not something I’d share with the world.

Couldn’t Finish This

I guess I should have known from the fact someone so young was writing a memoir, especially someone no one has heard of, but I couldn’t even finish this read. I was hoping for more true crime substance, but all it was was look how great I am at everything. Oh, and I’m so smart. This person thinks so very highly of themselves and it permeates everything to the extent it’s unlistenable. Questionable ethical decisions as well.
