Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling authors Wendy Mass and Rebecca Stead, masterminds of classic middle-grade fiction, come together to craft a magical story about the enduring power of friendship.

It's been five years since Livy and her family have visited Livy's grandmother in Australia. Now that she's back, Livy has the feeling she's forgotten something really, really important about Gran's house.

It turns out she's right.

Bob, a short, greenish creature dressed in a chicken suit, didn't forget Livy, or her promise. He's been waiting five years for her to come back, hiding in a closet like she told him to. He can't remember who-or what-he is, where he came from, or if he even has a family. But five years ago Livy promised she would help him find his way back home. Now it's time to keep that promise.

Clue by clue, Livy and Bob will unravel the mystery of where Bob comes from, and discover the kind of magic that lasts forever.

Sweet, Quirky Story Set in Australia

A short, sweet listen, Bob, was enjoyed by both my 11 year old daughter and me. She could identify with the main character, on the verge of tweendom, and I really liked the quirky storytelling filled with silly lists and a friendly closet dwelling "zombie" boy.

Solid performances by both narrators...Bob is filled with whimsy that makes a story about growing up a joy to listen to.

We enjoyed this.

Simple but interesting story performed well by two voice actors. My kids are 6 and 8 and I'd say it is right at their level.

A Perfect Little Story

Despite being in my 40s, I still found this children's story intriguing and heart warming. Well done to the authors and the narrators for an excellent collaboration. This was an example of perfect storytelling.

Fun and imaginative

I wanted to listen to this book because I loved Wendy Mass's other books, The Meaning of Life, and Every Soul a Star. I was not disappointed. It was descriptive, pleasant, and imaginative. I felt dissapointed the story was over so quick and hope their is a sequel.

Audible is great for Teachers and Students!

Really enjoyed exploring this first Audible book of mine with my SLD students. The level of engagement was turned up a few notches as they listened to the reader and followed along in their books. Research says that following along while someone is reading aloud improves fluency! The students enjoyed trying to figure out the enigma that "Bob" is.

my 3rd graders review.

"on a scale of 1-10, I give it a 10. My favorite part of the book was when Bob found....spoiler... but made sure you knew he really cared about Livi.
