In 1962, Madeleine L’Engle debuted her novel A Wrinkle in Time, which would go on to win the 1963 Newbery Medal. Bridging science and fantasy, darkness and light, fear and friendship, the story became a classic of children’s literature and is beloved around the world.

A Wrinkle in Time is the first book in The Time Quintet, which consists of A Wrinkle in Time, A Wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, Many Waters, and An Acceptable Time.

Good Rewind to my youth.

I felt like a kid again reading this. It was one of my favorites as a child. I was surprised at how simplistic it seemed to me now. The Narrator did well.

Brilliant

I was recommended the book by a friend after I said how much I enjoyed Narnia.
A bit heavy handed with it's christian metaphors, and I could have done without the "perfect guy falling in love with the quirky protagonist with low self esteem" but that doesn't intrude much, if at all, with what's amazing about the story.
All the characters are amazing
The worlds are amazing
The truths and metaphors are amazing
The lessons are amazing.

Such an excellent book on many levels.

It is hard to define. Is it science, science fiction, fantasy... Yes all and more. I only wish that it were longer.

Real

I loved this book. it has a realness to it. It gives you a chance to escape and think of other things than your job and basic life. It allows you to think of actual life, things that really matter as in love, fear, hope, and how to look into your self and others and understand more than just what you can see, feel and hear. It gives you a chance to open up to the real world as you escape to an imaginary one. I recommend this book to everyone who has a desire to not only escape from their life for a while, but to those who want to open themselves to new knowledge and understanding.
If after listening or reading this book you dont feel the same way I do about it, I strongly suggest you listen/read it again till you have that understanding.

Great story

I remember reading this book as a child and loving it. It is just as enjoyable as it was then.

Juvenile science fantasy

Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time is a juvenile science fantasy. A teenage girl, along with her precocious little brother and a friend with the help of three mystical being save their father who has become the prisoner of a dark force that threatens all. The title derives from use of a device called a tesseract that allows for action outside of time. Their father is a physicist who was exploring the tesseract, but became trapped on a planet where there is 'peace' and 'happiness' by having everyone be the same and all actions tightly controlled. In the end, love saves the day.

L'Engle weaves a delightful tale with each child having a special skill that proves useful. Along with three mystical beings, Mrs. Whatsit, Who, and Which, each of whom is annoying in their own way, they travel through space and time meeting interesting people and delightful places. There is evil that must be overcome and life lessons that are learned.

The narration is well done, although the voice of Mrs. Which is overdone. Pacing is brisk and the tale moves quickly.

over acting

this is a child's book, not a book everyone will enjoy. very childish. over acting. so dramatic . some children will enjoy it and others will be frightened.

Lovely book to read at any age!

Lovely book to read, though I wish I had read it when I was 11-14.

Great for a road trip

My kids absolutely loved it! They said the book is way better than the movie!
