Will you open your heart and home to children in need?

As a teenager, Kristin Berry had heard all the horror stories surrounding foster care and adoption - abuse, neglect, rejection, anger, and misunderstandings. But instead of closing her heart, God opened it wide.

This is Kristin's honest, unvarnished story of some of her experiences as a foster parent of 23 children over the course of nine years.

What she learned is that living in a foster home is like living with a revolving door. You never know who will arrive or who you will have to say goodbye to. Leaving the door open means there will be heartache and pain, but also adventure and unexpected joy. Kristin and her husband, Mike, have been through it all in their unique parenting journey.

If you have ever wondered what it's really like to be a foster parent, this book will help you gain a true understanding of the everyday trials and triumphs these moms and dads face. It will also inspire you to consider opening your door...and to leave it wide open.

I learned so much from this book! It is my husband and I first year as a foster parent and it is absolutely insightful, honest and captivating! I am so impressed I am going to look for another of the authors books... I learned a lot and I am grateful that she shared such an intimate look into their foster care journey with us.

The book was great but the story just abruptly ended. Other than that it was great!

I 🩷 your message! You are an incredible person as well as your husband… & your kids! God in action all the way. He definitely gave you a large order to fill & He knew that each of you would Embrace these opportunities. I’m a retired NICU RN & could relate to giving @ your level (even though you may encounter pain along the way). You have obviously blessed the 🩷s of so many families. May you continue to spread Gods blessings (& write another book) through your 🩷. 🙏

As a foster mom this book is spot on. It has all the feels and none of the judgement. this is a fabulous book for any person looking at becoming a foster parent, a first time foster parent, or even a veteran foster parent. I would also encourage anyone who supports foster care to listen/read this book. Hopefully the authors words will help explain what we as foster families feel but often cannot put into words until after we've faced the storm.
Thank you for taking the time to write this book!!

Powerful and honest

Somebody might love this, but I could not finish this book. it is written like a novel. It isn't a novel! I felt the author was hooked on creating the scene and getting to reader to feel it and experience it like they did more than relaying the information. Like a novel. It just wasn't fitting. I just wanted the information and not all the "fluff".

I mean no disrespect. More "fluff" than info.
