In their contentions with Priest-Kings, Kurii, savage denizens of the Steel Worlds, concealed within the asteroid belt, have frequently had recourse to human allies, and subversion. In accord with such projects, Kurii have occasionally sought to place and support congenial administrations in key cities. One such city is Corcyrus.

Corcyrus is ruled by a beautiful woman, the cruel, arrogant, much-hated Sheila, an agent of Kurii. It is thought advisable to find a double for Sheila, who, in case of military or political disaster, may serve as her proxy, or substitute. For this role an unwitting young Earth girl, Tiffany Collins, is chosen and brought to Gor. She is introduced into her role and led to believe that she, unaware of the true Sheila, is the Tatrix, or female administrator, of Corcyrus.

Defeat in war, and revolution occur, and the blood of Sheila is sought by the victors. Tiffany, fleeing for her life, finds herself alone, frightened, and unbefriended, a vulnerable Earth female, no more than a lovely, defenseless barbarian, on the beautiful, perilous world of Gor. She is a girl without a Home Stone, and such may be taken in hand, and claimed, as might be any stray animal, to be collared and owned, to be put to the pleasure of masters. The expression 'Kajira' is the most common expression in Gorean for a female slave.

feminine

cheeze as it might seem. the voice of a female slave should be feminine. the reader did not have a very female voice. did a good job on the male characters tho!

narrator is the worst!

the woman narrating this should've been made to redo it. she has a horrible monotone and breezes past many of the more descriptive things that make this series so enjoyable. it took great will to continue listening and not just quit and delete.

An arrogant free woman discovers her femininity

Have you ever encountered an arrogant young woman who wouldn't give you the time of day, except to tease you?

If you have, then this book is for you.

Narcissistic and sly in the extreme, holding herself above males in all ways, Tiffany Collins fancies herself a model. However, her first model "shoot" is actual scouting for transport to Gor. The twist? She is to stand in as a double for the ruler of a city, in case anything should happen to the similarly arrogant ruler.

So she is trained in "rulership," but the tides of history do not favour the ruler, so she flees the city and leaves Tiffany -- now known as "Sheila, Tatrix of Corcyrus" to suffer punishment in her stead.

In the end, both arrogant females are brought to heel. Tiffany finds her precious virginity taken by a detestable man whom she had wronged when playing the ruler of Corcyrus, and then is captured and forced to yield as any slave girl might, in the end begging for the brand and collar. And the ruler? She is captured by a slave hunter and similarly opened for the uses of men.

Both become docile, heated, obedient and sexual. In the end, she who was Tiffany Collins, now only "Lita," the slave girl of her former guard, begs her Master to "Please fuck me."

Such should be the end result of all females who hold themselves the equal or superior to any male.

Total irrelevance

None of the central characters are in this book and it has nothing to do with the actual storyline. Reader does a terrible job with voiced

Not for me

I finally found a book in the series that I do not like. For some reason it just doesn't seem to fit in. Had to return it, I didnt think I needed sample before purchasing. I've liked all the others but lesson learned.
