Resumen del Editor

Here, for the first time in one volume, are the first three books of the internationally best-selling The Ghosts saga, featuring Child of the Ghosts, Ghost in the Flames, Ghost in the Blood, and the bonus short story "Ghost Aria".

When her life is torn apart by sorcery and murder, young Caina Amalas joins the Ghosts, the legendary spies and assassins of the Emperor of Nighmar. She learns the secrets of disguise and stealth, of assassination and infiltration, and grows from a frightened child to a Ghost nightfighter - a woman who can face the most terrible foes and prevail through boldness and cunning.

But even that might not be enough to save her. For, the evil that destroyed her family seeks to devour the entire world.

Good overall but a few issues.

Just a few hangups that might bother some people. I'll probably continue with the series... I'm three books in, and I need to vent. I'll try to keep spoilers to a minimum, but stop here if you don't want anything given away.

First off, Op Sec is a mess. Halfdan, for example, is well known among the ghost circles despite the fact that each ghost should only know 2 other ghosts in their circle. The exception is circle masters who know everyone in the circle. Halfdan knows multiple circle masters and several operatives... Why then is Halfdan allowed to work as a field operative, the possibility of him being captured is a MASSIVE security risk.

Second, Cayna is supposed to be smart and observant. When a thrown dagger is deflected by a magus and the magus then tells her he's warded himself against steel weapon. Cayna should not respond with sneaking up behind him and attempting to stab him in the back with a steel dagger less than 2 minutes later.

Lastly, if you know you're going to be fighting someone with steel deflection, come up with a counter measure beforehand. There are other metals that hold an edge other than Iron and Iron alloys. Hell make a stone knife if that's what it takes.

Wonderful entertainment

I purchased this set of books thinking that it must not be that great since they were offering all 4 books but wanted some lasting entertainment. This set was absolutely fabulous. I will be purchasing more from this author. The person who read the book was awesome too. They were able to bring all the voices to life and make a wonderful story for listening too. GREAT ENTERTAINMENT!!!!! I can't thank you enough for the enjoyment.

A real treat.

A very fascinating story from the beginning. The narrator was amazing using her multiple voices.

Extremely Annoying

I really tried to give this a chance. I wanted a story I could lose myself in, especially for this much run time. this book, however, is just unbearable.
My primary gripe is with the characters. none of them are really complex or believable. they're all cardboard cutouts of common tropes, but done more poorly than most other authors. The main character... The main character is the most annoying little girl imaginable. She's basically Sherlock Holmes if Sherlock Holmes didn't need all of his years of education and was sick in the head of a squeaky little know it all. of course, everyone likes her upon meeting her unless they're evil. When the "grumpy assassin" type character is down to not like her, it turns out he actually does like her but feels like she'll get hurt so he doesn't want to like her. her father is apparently a prominent noble who is supposed to be extremely clever, but displays all the cleverness of the "tragically noble knight" trope.
I recommend you save yourself a credit unless you have very low standards. I couldn't make it through even a quarter of this.
