Layla has been working at her family's bar since she was five years old. But it's more than a bar. It's home. Now, with her family gone and debts piling up, her bar is repossessed and taken over by local businessman Hank Taylor. Hank offers Layla a deal: If she can win a drinking contest, she can have the bar back. Layla's never lost a drinking contest in her life, but after an evening swigging back whiskey, she and Hank wake up together, naked and handcuffed in Mexico. Getting home offers dangerous adventure, and it's a tossup whether Hank and Layla will get back before they kill each other, or fall in love.

Just Sacked is the sexy and hilarious fourth audiobook in the Five Wishes series.

Funny Romantic Comedy!

This was a short but fun audiobook. It was a bit of a rollercoaster ride with some twists and turns. It's quite crazy to wake up handcuffed without any clothes in another country!!! Such a crazy scary adventure!

Narration was well done and brought the story to life.

This is part of a series but you can listen to it as a stand alone. It was nice that I could listen to it in one sitting. Looking forward to more books in this fun series.

A sweet, funny book.

This was a short ( to me) and sweet book. With lots of funny twists and turns. and a tad of good sex and romance thrown in. What happens when you wake up naked and handcuffed your most hated in Mexico? one hell of an adventure, thats what! This seems to be a series but was a total stand alone book.

The narration, which can destroy a good book, was excellent. and I would listen to her read a book to me again.

Story Review:
This was very entertaining! The narrator really brought these characters to life and I had so much fun listening to them on their Mexican adventure. Our main characters were having a drinking contest and woke up naked and handcuffed to each other in Mexico. The story is about them running into all kinds of obstacles getting back to the states. It's a cute enemies to lovers trope that was a bit silly but a good silly. The book is short so it's great for when you want something quick to read. It will definitely lift your spirits if you are just coming off a book hangover.

GOT A REAL KICK OUTTA THIS ONE!

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

Absolutely wonderful listen. Angie Hickman pulls off the funny! Layla’s inherited bar was failing and the bank sold it to Hank. Layla hates Hank. After a wager of drinking shots to win it back or be an employee, they both end up in Mexico... nude...

What a ride. Great little story that could have used a bit more background and bit more ending, but whatever! It was still a barrel of laughs.

Two Thumbs Up.

Short, Funny Story

This was a good story that had several laugh out loud moments. This is mostly a comedic, romantic romp. There is some suspense to add some tension but overall... it was just plain fun! It really gets going once they end up in Mexico... and The author does a good job wrapping everything up by The end. But still left me ready for The next book! The narrator did a great job and she has good timing and knows how to phrase for funny effect.

This is the first book is this series that I've read/listened to and I'm probably going back to pick up the earlier ones.

What the Heck Just Happened??

❔❔❔
Perhaps it is because Just Sacked is the 4th in the series and I haven't read the previous 3 books, but I felt like I was a few steps behind throughout the entire book.

Layla and Hank have a drinking contest; the winner will be the owner of the foreclosed bar formerly owned by Layla's family.

After a night of drinking, they awake in Mexico, literally handcuffed together. There were a lot of hair-raising, high drama situations that the 2 must face together. Something that irritates Layla especially – if they are ever able to make it back to the states alive. Despite their dire circumstances, Layla continually bickers with Hank over the bar.

If it weren't for the last few chapters, which tied everything up, I would have felt that listening to this book was time wasted. However, knowing the who and why at the end of the book made me think back and kind of understand the entire thing.

*I received this book in exchange for my unbiased opinion. This is a well-written book with well-performed narration. The ending confirmed my feeling that the book was a bit juvenile for my taste.

Drinking challenge anyone?

What could go wrong with a drinking challenge, apparently a lot! This series is a lot of fun and this book is no different. The story can be read as a standalone, there's no assumed knowledge.

Elise does a fantastic job of putting her characters into strange and very funny situations. The characters are beautifully constructed so that it seems natural for them to act in unexpected ways.

Some rather wicked twists make for a story that keeps you desperate to know what happens next.

Angie did a fabulous job with the narration, great character voices and a delivery that heightens the comedic nature of the book.

Funny, short listen

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend wanting a funny short book. It it a quick, quirky listen that is overall enjoyable and does't have too much drama too it.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved when the two woke up together in Mexico and had no idea how they got there. Having to shower and get dressed without any clothes and find out what happened. Then getting arrested was too funny!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Several parts of the book had me laughing out loud at the book. I found this book the funniest in the series so far. I enjoyed it much more than the others. Note - each one is a standalone so you don't have to worry about having to listen to any of the others before this one.

Any additional comments?

Absurdly-funny, Bra-obsessed Romance!

Yes I do mean bra obsessed, as only a woman with larger breasts can appreciate. This short audiobook is a perfect bite of humour, romance and escapism. Written from Laila's perspective, the story is fast-paced and slightly absurd. There is no moment when the reader can take a break as Hank and Laila swing from one harrowing situation to another. Their chemistry is hot and their action... hotter! The reader gets a HEA, but in Laila and Hank's unique style.

I think Elise Sax writes the books Angie Hickman is meant to read. They fit perfectly together. Angie brings the characters and situations to life in a thoroughly enjoyable way.
