So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction,” eating little and weighing herself five times a day. She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income.

Publisher's Summary
With a star that rose from unforgettable child acting roles, such as A. C. Slater in Saved by the Bell, to the forefront of today's entertainment media, Mario Lopez is nothing short of a pop culture sensation.
Now, as he turns 40, Mario looks back on his life with a newfound perspective and a humorous sensibility of how things have changed with age, divulging for the first time the endearing, surprising, and sometimes difficult experiences that shaped him into the loving father and husband he is today.
In Just Between Us, Mario shares a behind-the-scenes look into his successes and disappointments in the entertainment business and how his tight-knit family and long-standing values helped keep him grounded, no matter what.
With wit and candor, Mario reveals his most intimate never-before-told stories, including the details of his often tumultuous and largely public love life - giving readers a look at the ups and downs of his romantic past leading up to his happily-ever-after with his beautiful wife and their two children.
This is Mario Lopez unfiltered, for the first time ever.

I've had the pleasure of meeting. Mario a few years ago when he did a Meet & Greet not far from where I lived at the time.. He was so nice and seemed so down to earth. That's what you get from this book...he's very open and honest about his life from entering the world of being a child star to becoming a loving husband and father. Some of his stories will make you laugh and a couple that might make you cry. All combined I found it very inspirational!

As Sweet As He Seems
What made the experience of listening to Just Between Us the most enjoyable?
Learning that the Mario I THOUGHT he was (kind, honest, family man) is the Mario he really is.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Just Between Us?
Learning the truth about his first and very brief marriage
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Possibly talk a little slower at some points of the book.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There were a few moments that choked me up, mostly the love for his parents and his own family.
Any additional comments?
It's so nice to learn about a celebrity that has a good normal family background, has "made it", and has remained true to his roots. If he's looking for any more friends, I'd love to be his friend!

well let me tell y'all, I used to like and respect Mario but after listening to almost only 6 chapters, I just couldn't finish this book. He may have thought the readers would enjoy hearing about his sexual exploits as a TEENAGER but this reader/listener didn't like it at all! and telling about something as personal as the girl having an abortion, was just in poor taste! I am prolife! and I thought Mario was too. I'm sure his parents and family would have helped them raise a child!! or give it up for adoption!! NEVER is abortion the answer! NEVER! ok enough about that. I found this book borderline porn! I was like what if a teenager read or listened to this book!! ohmygosh I would NOT let any child of any age have this book! BAD Mario! just horrible!

Didn't love this, even though I wanted to
What would have made Just Between Us better?
There's no story. Just Mario talking about how great Mario is at everything, that's the story. It was quite annoying and uninteresting. He ended with a series of cheesy no-brainer quotes.
What was most disappointing about Mario Lopez and Steve Santagati ’s story?
There's no story. Just Mario talking about how great Mario is, that's the story. It was quite annoying and uninteresting. He ended with a series of cheesy no-brainer quotes.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Mario Lopez?
Yes.
What character would you cut from Just Between Us?
There's only one character.
Any additional comments?
Don't waste your time or money on this book. Listen to JLo's book instead. Lots of real reflection there and she's incredibly sweet and humble. Mario should take notes from Jennifer Lopez.

Kim Fields has lived most of her life with people thinking they know her, which is understandable. From her first job on a Mrs. Butterworth syrup commercial at age seven, she has spent 40 years in the public eye. There were nine years as Dorothy "Tootie" Ramsey on the classic sitcom The Facts of Life, five more in her 20s starring as Regine Hunter on the seminal coming-of-age show Living Single, and most recently appearing as herself on Real Housewives of Atlanta and Dancing with the Stars.

When Vanessa Williams was growing up, she had a plan: She'd go to college and major in musical theater; afterward she'd get her MFA from the Yale School of Drama, and then she would embark on a successful career on Broadway. But her life took a detour and she wound up the first black Miss America in September 1983 (an accomplishment that she never planned for or desired), only to be forced to resign ten months later due to a nude photo scandal - much to the shock of her mother, Helen, who had told her, "never pose nude for anyone."

Or maybe you've read about him in The New York Times, which called him "the most promising new talent in political comedy in many years." Or maybe from The New Yorker fawning over his brand of humor writing: "Bell's gimmick is intersectional progressivism: he treats racial, gay, and women's issues as inseparable."
