Publisher's Summary

Want to know more about history and politics? Then you should probably go and listen to a proper audiobook. Fancy a laugh at some smutty jokes? Then go and read Viz. But if you fancy a combination of the two, this is the audiobook for you.

In Off the Record, bitter and twisted leftie news reporter Jonathan Pie picks 10 of the world's worst wankers and tears them apart.

Here you'll find the answers to some difficult questions. Was Blair just a Tory in disguise? Did Cameron really have relations with that pig? Just how did we end up with President Donald Trump?

It's the ultimate guide to political arseholery. With extra swearing.

Only thing wrong was it’s too short

The chapter on Trump alone was worth the price. But everything else was brilliant. If you are a Pie fan this is a must!

I only wish it had been longer

Would you listen to Jonathan Pie again? Why?

Yes, especially if at some point he tours the US like he has the UK. Looking forward to the next book, whenever it arrives. While I don't always agree with the politics expressed, his delivery and strong stance on free speech are compelling and delivered in a way that makes it even more palatable to those who might disagree.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

The thread that runs through this book is that even when people disagree, trying to censor or prevent opinions from being aired is absolutely unacceptable. If they were, we might not this bit of joy that is this book in our currently-dreary world.

What does Jonathan Pie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It's absolutely essential that you listen to the audiobook rather than read it as Jonathan's (Tom Walker) delivery is crucial to getting the full impact of the humor. Just watch him on YouTube for a great taste of that.

Any additional comments?

The book was too short, even with the bonus material at the end of some chapters, but I don't regret the purchase at all as Jonathan Pie is the kind of humorist we need in these times.

Devoured in a day...

Having enjoyed the video work of Pie, I jumped on this title when it came up as a suggestion and wasn’t disappointed.

Whilst it’s not one to listen to while the kids are around due to the colourful language, the delivery is great and kept me interested whilst Pie destroyed a collection of the most reviled people of our age. Without swearing how else could you possibly describe Thatcher, Blair, Cameron et al?

Pie of course is only a fictional character and the subjects satirised, but in his own way he’s probably saying what most of us are thinking with scary accuracy.

Spot on analysis, delivered through satire

This has to be one of the best audiobooks I've ever listened to..it's funny, its intelligent and very thought provoking. There was nothing I could find fault with, in fact I agreed with everything he said: I too detest Bliar, I too quite like Simon Cowell, I too am very unhappy with the bigotry of the left/middle classes

Fantastic, funny and enlightening.

A great book filled with insightful knowledge about politics in the 21st century and its morals (or lack thereof). Completely justified and well spoken; this is perfect for anyone regardless of interest in politics, (except tories who need to go back and read 1984).
A perfect book to fill up both short and long moments of free time.

Narrated by the author (full time presenter) it is very emotive and enjoying.

5*s all the way. No doubt I will listen to this book at least once more if not more.

How wrong can I be. Brilliant, fantastic, enthralling, entertaining, funny, very funny, wry, dry and very very funny.

Loved it! People on the train gave me odd looks...

I absolutely love Jonathan Pie and this book is uproarious from start to finish! The satirical lambasting on the current state of politics is so incredibly accurate it's hard to believe that JP is just a character! I only wish that there was more to listen to!

Hilarious! More Pie Please!

Bawdy, profane and disrespectful - I loved every minute of it.

We are all familiar with Jonathan Pie popping up in social media. Here you get 3 hours of Pie at full force. Even my wife was in stitches although we made sure that the kids were tucked up in bed first.
