Publisher's summary

If there was ever a time when Jameson Grant wished he was a different sort of man, it was now. The sort of man who had it in him to accept the promise of tomorrow from a sweet woman. But he wasn’t the kind of man who liked sweet. The former SEAL didn’t like much of anything or anyone.

His past had taught him that people where liars and cheats, and his time as a Special Forces operator taught him people also killed and manipulated. So, Jameson did what he did best and walked away from the sexy blonde, with legs that were every man’s fantasy. But when she comes back in desperate need of help, he cannot turn his back on the beautiful Kennedy Lane a second time.

Kennedy Lane was in trouble, and she only knew one man who could help. But when she went in search of her childhood friend, the owner of Gemini Group, she found his sexy teammate Jameson, instead. The man was positively broody, brash, and most certainly rough around the edges, and possibly the most distrusting person she’d ever met. He was also hot, and bossy, and when he forgot to be a jerk, he was sweet.

The problem was, he wasn’t interested in her - not personally. Jameson had one mission - keep Kennedy safe - a directive he’d made crystal clear. As the pressure to sell her land increases, the team quickly realizes just how far the greedy land developer will go in his quest to steal everything Kennedy loves.

Nothing is off-limits, and no one is safe. Lines blur when Kennedy’s life is on the line and Jameson can no longer deny he’s fallen for the woman he never dared to dream existed. Now time’s running out - literally - and it’s up to Jameson to save the woman he loves.

No sophomore slump. Great next book in the series

I tried to go into this book with an open mind, knowing I already liked the narrators and enjoyed the first book by Riley.

I was pleasantly surprised when I enjoyed this book more than the first. There was more depth to this one and I am now accustomed to her writing style, still prefer first person but live the dual narration and POV.

It is still a little difficult for me to keep all the guys straight since their names are so similar, but look forward to the rest of the series.

I like to read the series in order even if they are standalones since they defense previous story lines and the “recall” never has enough details as I like from listening to the previous books.

Kennedy and Jameson make quite the pair and compliment the rest of the characters as well. Perfect small town, ex-military romance.

Good story. Good Narration.

I thought the audiobook was well done. The storyline pretty much followed the pattern of Nixon's book.

Jameson and Kennedy fell into the Insta attraction mode. Any issues they had were overcome pretty quickly. I think both characters had strong personalities.

The players involved in trying to take over Kennedy's land were no big surprise. Even what McKenna ultimately discovered was not a surprise. I was surprised that no one checked into that in the fist place, especially considering their backgrounds and current positions.

There was a bit of suspense toward the end of the book. I expected it earlier in the story, but it didn't happen. Overall, this was an entertaining read. I would give it 3.5 stars.

Great Listen, Possible better than the first book

I liked that the male lead had flaws unlike the first book. There was more character growth for him.

The narrators were great and I did not here any missteps like I hear in others.

The overall store was great and kept you riveted to see what would happen next.

What a twist at the end!

I loved Jameson and Kennedy. He's the ultimate grump and she's Miss Sunshine, but they go together perfectly. just when I thought they had the HEA and everything was tied in a pretty bow, Riley Edwards threw a huge sucker punch and wowza!! kept me on the edge of my seat. Both narrators are amazing.

I never knew I needed this series

I’m so in love with this series. The storylines are fantastic and once I started listening I could not stop listening. Can’t wait until I start the next book. I know all the Gemini men will find true love. We just have to figure out how.

Enjoyed from start to finish

Jameson doesn’t let anyone close to him and doesn’t want a relationship. His team mates are all that he needs in his life as far as relationships go. When Kennedy comes to her old friend Nixon for help, the two immediately butt heads but there is a definite chemistry there. This was a well done story with plenty of suspense and drama. I loved these two characters for each other. The narrators did a fantastic job with this. I love Joe Arden and Erin Mallon as narrators. Haven’t heard a book they haven’t done a good job on.

4.5 suspense filled goodness

Book #2 in the Gemini Group series was another great read. Jameson and Kennedy’s story was full of angst, suspense that left you on edge, and steamy connection. I loved seeing their relationship grow as the story progressed. Can’t get enough of the Gemini guys and their loved ones. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon did a wonderful bringing Jameson and Kennedy to life!

Jameson and Kennedy

I loved Jameson and Kennedy's story. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon really gave these characters life!! Author Riley Edwards is new to me and has gained another fan! Jameson's life was not easy as a child. He didn't have everything that most had and had to grow up much sooner than most. His life made him realize things come and go and opening himself up for hurt and pain is not what he needs. He needs control but meeting Kennedy changed his entire world.

Kennedy is a spunky person who is also a hard worker. Her life was great as a child but it was also turned upside down. She has things hitting her from the left and right but she is a fighter and would never let anyone win. Her dad was her hero and she has vowed to make sure her mother and her house are well taken care of.

Kennedy and Jameson meet in an unconventional way but it happened and their feelings grow stronger by the minute. Kennedy has a thorn in her side who has been terrorizing the town. Kennedy will not allow someone to tear her dreams and the town she loves away from her. Can Jameson help with this situation? Will he allow someone to finally come into his heart that has a steel cage around it?

This story has ups and downs...ins and outs and questions that will have you turning the page for more! I can't wait to read more in this series and by Riley Edwards.

Loved this audiobook!

Jameson Grant is looking at his friend's old barn. Nixon had inherited his grandfather's farm and had brought it back to its former glory. When he joined Nixon, Holden, Weston and Chason in the Gemini Group he had moved to the farm and was feeling good about his life. After spending fifteen years in the Marines he was glad to have found a place to call home.

As he is sitting enjoying his beer a F150 pulls up and brings down his enjoyment as there weren't any visitors expected. Then a gorgeous woman steps down from the truck.

Kennedy Lane was looking for Nixon. Reggie Coleman had been annoying at first but now he was threatening her because she was refusing to sell him the land she inherited from her dad. She needed Nixon and his group to stop the harassment.

I loved Kennedy and Jameson's story. It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Although this is a standalone book I wish I had started with Nixon's Promise to get the background on McKenna and Nixon's romance as their stories continue and intertwine with Kennedy and Jameson's story.

This book is narrated by Joe Arden and Erin Mallon. They both did an excellent job portraying these characters...their strengths and insecurities. Listening to them tell this story brought through the danger and suspense that Kennedy was going through.

This book is action packed from page one and full of danger and suspense. A perfect romantic suspense novel full of smoking hot chemistry. Kennedy's mother is spit out your drink hilarious! Highly recommend this book and Riley Edwards and both these narrators!

Enjoyable

Jamison Grant is always on the outside. He doesn’t have close friends, outside of the Gemini group, and he certainly isn’t looking for love. But when he crosses paths with Kennedy Lane everything is about to change. His one mission soon becomes keeping Kennedy safe and winning her heart.

Good story, great narration

Let me preface this with the fact that I'm a huge fan on this team of narrators- Joe Arden and Erin Mallon can bring any story to life and I really loved their telling of the story, which is actually my first read of this story. Therefore, their ability to draw you into the story is wonderful and I didn't think about a few of the issues with the story.

I did whispersync and read a couple of chapters and what really confused me a bit was the switching between first and third person. This is something that I didn't really think about too much when listening to the audiobook but reading it made it a little more obvious.

The story itself was good- a bit too instalove and it got tiring hearing Jameson note that he doesn't usually get into relationships but couldn't help himself with Kennedy. Otherwise, I love the grumpy sunshine pairing and Riley Edwards does it so well. Also, the entire cast of characters from the Gemini group and beyond are great and I love checking in with them and I can't wait for them to get their HEAs too. This book features a wonderful blend of romance, steam, suspense and a bit of action to round it out!

Action but not a lot of depth

It’s a sweet story about a capable MC meeting mr. right and getting him to open up to love. But there isn’t a lot of character depth and the declarations are a bit over the top. Overall a sweet and entertaining read. It’s a solid 3.5 ⭐️ for me.

Sunshine VS the Grump.... And they both win!

First of all, this is the second book in the series and each book is standalone though I think I am enjoying listening to the books in order because of the small references to past events. That said, Jameson is a grump and may not seem like the best match for a sunshine woman like Kennedy. From their very first encounter she sees beyond his exterior, while initially he is distracted by her seemingly naive, positive attitude. As he digs deeper, he realizes everything about her is hard-won and, more importantly, she chooses who she is. I like the contrast between the two characters and how their relationship develops. I also appreciate the depth of their personalities and how they balance each other out, which is important because this series includes darker elements that require the Gemini Group's expertise.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this listening experience. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon are a good narrating team. I am looking forward to the next book already!

So good I listened twice

I really enjoyed this one.

There was no slow build up - Riley had me with this one in the first five minutes.

Jameson and Kennedy are relatable and interesting. I particularly enjoyed Kennedy's memories of her teenagehood and her pep talks to herself. I love how independent and capable she is.

Jameson's inner dialogue is fantastic as he argues with himself over his feelings. His development over the course of the book is a great story.

The drama is also well portrayed and I almost cried I was so devastated about the disasters that befell poor Kennedy.

Joe and Erin narrate perfectly, as always, bringing the characters alive in the best way.

Very enjoyable.

A perfect blend of sweet, heat and suspense.

Jameson’s Salvation is the second book in the Gemini Group Series. I was already hooked after Nixon’s Promise and Jameson and Kennedy’s story didn’t let me down.

“He was a little gruff and a whole lot short, but there was something about his grumpy attitude that made me want to make him smile…”

The story was completely engaging, a perfect blend of sweet, heat and suspense.

“The woman was incendiary.
And his plan to take things slow had gone up in smoke.”

I read this mostly on audiobook and really enjoyed the narration. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon are fast becoming a favorite duo to listen to. I can’t wait to start on the next book in this series.

Loved!

Jameson's Salvation - Book 2 of the Gemini Group Series

Jameson Grant and Kennedy Lane's story was a captivating listen and another great romantic suspense from Riley Edwards! Jameson is not a people person outside of his small circle but Kennedy has him dreaming of more and wanting to help her in any way he can. I adored Kenndy - she was a strong heroine and just full of sunshine always wanting to see the good in people and give them second chances. Once the suspense and action got going I had a hard time stepping away from the audio as I wanted to know what happens. I loved how their relationship progressed and how they came to realize what they truly meant to one another. I would highly recommend this listen and series.

Joe Arden and Erin Mallon were fantastic at bringing Jameson and Kennedy's emotions out throughout the story!

well blended opposing characterizations

I truly enjoyed listening to Kennedy and Jameson's story. The way the author was able to blend Kennnedy's positivity with Jameson's cold world hate view was truly inspiring. I love the mystery and suspense and the action in their story. I love their all in relationship. I love the team and their loving outreach. I absolutely love revisiting Nixon and McKenna. I can not wait for the rest of the men to fall hard and fast. The characters are fully developed through thorough and thoughtful writing. The narration is smooth with well done separation of characters by voice and inflection.

I love this series!!

The best part of the Gemini Group series has to be its smart story-telling full of heart, love, and lust. Each book is a good listen on its own, but the stories dovetail nicely into each other when listened to in order.

Jameson, like the other men of Gemini Group, is a former Navy Seal. Guarded and tough, he feels shame for what he had to do while in combat. Kennedy is an independent woman whose only true love had been her family’s farm. After the death of her father, she scraped and fought to keep the land she had left. A greedy land developer has his sights on her property, and is not above threats and intimidation to have it for himself.

When Kennedy turns to the Gemini group for help, Jameson takes this mission personally and seriously. As he gets to know Kennedy, he grows to respect her as he falls in love in with her. Kennedy feels it too, but worries about losing her hard-won independence if she relies on Jameson too much.

Things start to take a potentially deadly turn, so Kennedy learns to trust and rely on Jameson. As an unbeatable team, they begin to see a future together if they can survive the battle for her family farm.

Great story with excellent narration by the incomparable Joe Arden and Erin Mallon. Highly recommend!

getting tamer

I think Ms Edwards has been sitting with Susan Stoker too long.
normally her heroes are tougher, a lot more alpha and definately blunter.
I'm talking about her "Red Team" series. Phew they were hot.
once again when the mission goes local it loses its edge which is what I say about Ms Stoker. in her books the alphas are almost too respectful and it puts a dampener on the rythymn of the storyline as everyone knows if both are willing and consenting...awaaaay we go.
Riley wrote like that and then some but she has calmed her heroes, Nixon and Jameson being whom I'm referring to.
the plot was good and plausible, the heroine was sassy and competent but began to slide to naive toward the end.....
the Gemini group is a good base but they are just a little to good to be true. I guess a gut wrenching back story of the boys would help put their character into perspective.
I still love this author and Ms Stoker...Will always read them..I just may get a little pickier.
Erin is one of my all time faves as is Joe so no question about narration.
so if you like a bit of home grown action, too good to be true alphas at least 1 bout of hot sex and a HEA then knock yourself out!😁😁
