Publisher's Summary

Stalker Kai Gracen knew his human upbringing would eventually clash with his elfin heritage, but not so soon. Between Ryder, a pain-in-his-neck sidhe lord coaxing him to join San Diego’s Southern Rise Court, and picking up bounties for SoCalGov, he has more than enough to deal with. With his loyalties divided between the humans who raised him and the sidhe lord he’s befriended and sworn to protect, Kai finds himself standing at a crossroads.

When a friend begs Kai to rescue a small group of elfin refugees fleeing the Dusk Court, he’s pulled into a dangerous mission with Ryder through San Diego’s understreets and the wilderness beyond. Things go from bad to downright treacherous when Kerrick, Ryder’s cousin, insists on joining them, staking a claim on Southern Rise and Kai.

Burdened by his painful past, Kai must stand with Ryder against Kerrick while facing down the very court he fears and loathes. Dying while on a run is expected for a Stalker, but Kai wonders if embracing his elfin blood also means losing his heart, soul, and humanity along the way.

Hail Kai Gracen!

Wow! This is perhaps the best series that I have listened to yet! I want to know what the last changes to the court is, it must be really good to have Kai swear like that at the end. I hope we get the next instalment sooner than later. Definitely worth purchasing.

A Love of Fae

I love Kai Gracen! A kickass, no nonsense, type of guy. The jobs he ends up on for the Sidhe Lord are dangerous, descriptive and exciting to read. The cast of characters involed run from humans, Sidhe Lords, fae animals and even dragons. I will listen to this again!

Greg Tremblay never disappoints! His voice is rich and multi-faceted!

loved it ! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This one is an emotional rollercoaster for Kai.

I love this series and re-listen to it regularly. Book 3 is another great instalment that I will happily re-listen to again and again and again ….

Greg Tremblay's narration, as always, vividly brings colour to this amazing world.

Favourite Series

To keep this short, the Kai Gracen series is perhaps my favorite series by Rgys Ford. Yes, I suspect it's edged ahead of the Sinners' Gin and Cole McGinnis series. (Miki and Jae still have their rightful places in my heart, of course.) I try to reccomend the written and the audio novels to everyone. Rhys writes great books and Greg narrates them with a flair I have yet to hear bettered.

AWESOME!

Excellent story and the action is impressive. Kai Gracen's and Ryder's , the Highlord growing friendship and understanding of each other is wonderful. Kai has a very strong personality and his concern for all the different species is fantastic. I am glad I found this Rhys Ford's books. They are all so very interesting. The narration/performance for this series by Greg Tremblay is excellent. I hope there will be more books for this series for a long time,

Thanks Rhys!

This third installment of the Kai Grayson series does not disappoint!
I was thrilled that this fantasy series was continuing and hope to see a fourth book soon!

Greg Trenbley is great! His characters come alive in my head and I remember the richness cantor of the dialogue long after the book us put aside.

Well worth the wait.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this hit audible and immediately bought it. I enjoyed the first two in the series and wondered if there'd ever be more. So glad that's a yes. This was a great continuation of Kai Gracen's adventures, expanding his universe. There's more character development, a deepening of relationships, a better perspective on his world and how it works and, of course, action. The journey through new terrain is both beautiful and fraught with danger. Fantastic creatures are combined with ugly power struggles and heinous personal agendas making for a fast paced, satisfying story.

Greg Tremblay's narration is terrific, each character is distinct with all the subtle nuances, quirks and personal habits necessary to make them utterly believable and stepping off the page.

All in all an entertaining listen that left me gratified at the end and wanting more. Crossing my fingers that Book Four is in the works and will be released in the near future.

Up with the best urban fantasy available in audio.

5* on everything, this series just keeps getting better. It's up there with Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock, as one of my all-time favourite urban fantasy series and like JY, the audio has one of the best narrators in the business. It's just as hard to put down the second time listening.

This is predominantly a great fantasy series, with imaginative world building and interesting characters which has a sweet (so far non graphic) slow burn romance between the two male main characters. It's a real shame that being tucked away in the Gay & Lesbian category, it doesn't seem to have reached many of the wider fantasy audience, many of whom I think would equally enjoy it.

Great series

Really enjoyed this and can’t wait for the next one to come out. I wish I discovered the series when loads of books had been released already instead of having to (I’m)patiently wait for the next one. I love Faith Hunter and Ilona Andrews books, and I love this series for the same reasons as those.

Great characters, good storyline, amazing narrator

Put a Rhys Ford story together with the amazing Mr Tremblay narrating and you have gold. Greg gives life to these wonderful characters in a story which plays out in a world which includes roaming pandas which have escaped from the San Diego Zoo when the elfin and human worlds merged. Haughty elfin ways don’t go down too well with Kai Gracen but Lord Ryder is growing on him. I’m hoping there are many more stories featuring these two.
