“Fascinating…the fullest portrait of Kennedy ever written.” —The Washington Post

The first oral biography of John F. Kennedy Jr. is an extraordinarily intimate and detailed look at the real man behind the myth. Sharing never-before-told stories, his closest friends, confidantes, lovers, classmates, teachers, and colleagues paint a vivid portrait of one of the most beloved figures of the 20th century who still captures public imagination twenty-five years after his tragic death.

Born into the spotlight, John F. Kennedy Jr. lived a short but remarkable life filled with expectation, ambition, family pressures, love, and tragedy. JFK Jr. dives deep into his complicated psyche and explores the what-ifs, illuminating both the cultural and political moment he inhabited and the way this son of a president, so full of promise, embodied America’s most cherished hopes.

I’m not even through with this book but the people who talk about him are so varied from every aspect of his life! Some from the oral histories at the JFK library some are just personal memories! It is extraordinary! They touch on aspects of his life that never have been talked about before. It shows that John became what he strove to be a good man!

I liked the accuracy the interviews done to give a clear picture of John and the impact being a son of a great president had on him. the narrative was relevant to the story of who John really was. it was hard to stop listening. the. story kept u on the edge of your seat. No one interested in the Kennedy legacy will be sorry they took the time to listen to John's story.

the book is based on interviews with people who had known John. It makes it much more.real and believable.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I’ve read a lot of books about the Kennedys and at this point a lot is just repetitive to me but I was surprised at how much I liked this. I think it was because it was in the words of people who really knew JFK Jr.

Better than expected

I liked learning more about those early years, especially stories about people in the current news. The same as they were 20-30 years ago.
