Resumen del Editor

The number-one New York Times best-selling author of The Day John Died delivers another dramatic installment in the lives of the Kennedys - including new details about JFK, Jr., his relationship with his mother, his many girlfriends, and the night of his tragic death.

Critically acclaimed author Christopher Andersen is a master of celebrity biographies - boasting 16 best sellers, among them These Few Precious Days, Mick, and William and Kate. Now in his latest thrilling book, untold details of the life and death of JFK, Jr., come to light, released in time for the 15-year marker of the tragic plane crash on July 16, 1999.

At the heart of The Good Son is the most important relationship in JFK, Jr.'s life: that with his mother, the beautiful and mysterious Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Andersen explores his reactions to his mother's post-Dallas suicidal depression and growing dependence on prescription drugs (as well as men); how Jackie felt about the women in her son's life, from Madonna and Sarah Jessica Parker, to Daryl Hannah and Carolyn Bessette, to his turbulent marriage; the senseless plane crash that took his life; the aftermath of shock, loss, grief, and confusion; and much more. Offering new insights into the intense, tender, and often stormy relationship between this iconic mother and son, The Good Son is a riveting, bittersweet biography for lovers of all things Kennedy.

Loved it!

Beautifully written behind the scenes story of the Kennedy’s. Narration was good, kept my interest the whole time. So much so that I immediately started watching Kennedy movies/documentaries. Such an interesting family.

A thoughtful journey of JFK Jr

There is more to the story than just JFK Jr. Much is said of Jackie. I found it interesting to hear this and liked the historical aspect of it. I was young when JFK Jr died. I didn’t know much of him but now I know more.

Surprisingly Good

The Kennedy family saga is such well-trodden territory that I didn't expect an awful lot from this book, but it was surprisingly good. Most of the material was familiar, a part even, of modern culture. Author Christopher Andersen revisits all of the wrenchingly painful moments, with a few new interesting tidbits of gossipy info tossed in here and there,

Narration was good, but Dean's lady voices were hilariously bad.

Robertson Dean makes this book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it is a good tabloid story for Kennedy fans and Robertson Dean is wonderful

What about Robertson Dean’s performance did you like?

His delivery was spot on. Great pacing, great consistency in Jackie's voice and he didn't overdo it by trying to hard on the females. Great sound quality, good editing.

Great Book on John Kennedy, From Birth to Death

This was very interesting to listen to. More detail than I've previously read. Much more about Jackie and other family members too. Great book for those who find the Kennedys interesting (I did!). Thank you.

Fascinating!

This was beautifully written and well researched.

Camelot is a myth, but carefully preserved in Americas imagination since that awful day in November 1963.

This book is an account of what JBKO and her children’s lives were like before and after that time.
There’s a lot of detailed information about the family dynamics between the Kennedys and their in laws, the betrayals and distrust and rampant, unchecked bad behavior.

The passages about Jackie and how she navigated her place in the world after the assassination are heartbreaking to hear. She stopped at nothing to raise her children as normally as possible, given the tragic circumstances of their fathers death and also shaped by her home life when she herself was a child. The bonds between mother and child really shine through towards the latter parts of the book.

I will definitely listen to this again.
