Good Until I Cringed

I saw "It Happened One Summer" recommended a few times on "BookTok" and I thought.. that sounds like a nice, light read. It was. It was cute and I enjoyed the characters. I even laughed out loud a couple times. It would have been a 4 star read/listen for me (books I automatically recommend to other people) BUT I had to take a star off for the sex scenes. I honestly cringed during their dirty talk. Maybe it was the narrator of the audiobook but every time after the first sex scene I would immediately think, "Ah man, another cringe-worthy sex scene.". I hit the 10 second fast-forward button more than a few times. Despite my cringing I am still looking forward to the 2nd book. If you want to read/listen to this one I would recommend the actual book over the audio version.

Omg! I loved it, I honestly need to move to the neared fishing town and find myself a Brendan.
I found this reading very entertaining and light en everything I love all in one. Loved the characters and loved the character development. 10/10

Fun & light, but...

This was a fun read. It was light and entertaining and the narrator did a great job. But, the 15 minute detailed sex scenes got a little old. I'm ok with that and she did a good job with them, there just didn't need to be so many. LOL

I laughed, I cried, I gasped.

I devoured this! Such a light hearted read. Love the spice & such a satisfying ending. I’m totally still crying. Cheers to a love like this. Brava!

Great Summer Romance!

Well this was an absolutely funny, sexy and heartfelt audiobook! A perfect summer read with a grumpy hero that melted my heart with his sweet gestures and a sassy, thoughtful heroine that had me crying over her journey. Piper and Brendan are nothing alike with him being a deep sea fisherman and her being a social media influencer banished for her shenanigans, but together they really worked for me! Plus I loved the small ocean town of Westport and all the locals that welcomed Piper and her sister into their community, even if they didn’t understand her at first. ⁣

Piper’s materialistic traits and social media influencer status definitely made her seem a little ditzy but I could sense there was more to her story than she led on. Strip away the expensive clothes and social media fame and you are left with a woman not sure who she is or where she belongs. At the heart of this book is a story about a woman discovering who she truly is and a man accepting that sometimes fate brings good things into your life not just bad. And Brendan, gahhh, he was certainly a condescending jerk to start but I absolutely fell for him and his big, generous heart. Overall I loved the humor and heat that this story brought, a great summer read with plenty of spice to keep me satisfied.

Tessa doesn't disappoint!!

I still remember her talking through this concept on the podcast! And then all the everything that happened after. I'm so happy that both Tessa and Piper have their very own HEA! ❤️

Don’t let the cover throw you off

I absolutely loved this book. Piper is lovable and Brendan is unforgettable. New author for me but I will be devouring her other books . ❤️

Fun read!

Cute story, and steamy! very very steamy! I found myself struggling to get into it, but then about a third of the way in I was hooked. I finished this book in less than a week.
