This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.

She came to carry his child, not bare her soul. But now that he’s touched it, she doesn’t know if she’ll ever get it back.

Librarian. Surrogate. Survivor.

Isabella Greene didn’t plan to fall for the alien warlord assigned to her. She only came aboard the Starliner Amour to escape Earth’s crushing debt and repair her broken body. What she didn’t expect was to be matched with Drex Xarn—a battle-scarred Velkari warlord who sees her as more than a vessel. He sees her as his.

Her contract is clear: carry his child, receive a fertility cure, walk away free. But Drex doesn’t do clinical. Their first meeting ignites a psychic link, and when she touches him during a sacred Velkari ritual, it triggers a bond neither of them can escape.

Now, locked in a sensory feedback loop of desire, memory, and primal need, Isabella must choose: keep her defenses up, or surrender her body—and maybe her heart—to the alien male determined to claim her, completely.

What started as a transaction has become something far more dangerous.

This standalone novella in the Wombs 4 Warlords series contains sensory rituals, accelerated bonding, primal heat, breeding kink, psionic seduction, and emotionally complex alien claiming. It’s high-heat, high-stakes, and deeply intimate. All characters are 21+ and fully consenting. Each book in the series features a new couple, a different world, and a fresh warlord ready to fall. Can be read in any order.

Computer voice is problematic not just for weird intonation but bc there are no character voices. You have to pay attention to who’s talking and ignore the sameness. Writing is a bit abrupt and leaves big gaps. Despite all this I liked the premise and enjoyable listen for a free book

Worth a listen but must look past virtual voice

This book was very hard to follow due to the computerized voice. I kept losing who was talking so I couldn't really tell it if was a good story. I listened to the whole story, and it didn't get any better. It felt like it took to long to get whole reason why the MFC chose to get on the ship, and then her pass catches up to her. The MMC elders doesn't agree with the way things go, but they want their people to have heirs. I listened to this story for free, part of the audible membership.

Could've been better
