Publisher's summary

Is This Wi-Fi Organic? is about science that affects us all. Science is the study of everything around us. But one impressive scientific breakthrough, the internet, has pervaded and encapsulated popular culture, and it is also making it harder and harder to know what is true - and what is not.

Learn how to separate internet fact from fiction. We live in the information age, giving us access to every datum ever collected and every opinion its originator thought fit to share. But with this newfound access to information comes a new challenge. Namely, how can you tell what information is true and what is false? In Is This Wi-Fi Organic? Dave Farina, author and science expert from the YouTube channel Professor Dave Explains, is here to help you fight confirmation bias and logical fallacies. In this book of science essays, you will learn:

  • The real science behind controversial health issues like medications and vaccines
  • What energy actually is-and how we use it each and every day
  • A core of scientific knowledge, from biochemistry and molecular biology to theoretical physics, that will help you pull truths from the weeds of misinformation and outright lies

I wish every adult had to read this book

I'll try to keep how much this book resonated with me to a dull roar but I'll apologize in advance because it's impossible to write a review completely devoid of that bias...This is a great book and a must read for people who have either forgotten their education or never really did well in school. There's a fantastic amount of total b.s. out there and it gets marketed all over the world. "There's one born every day..." Yep, and they make purchases too. If you're prone to making impulse purchases or want to educate yourself so you can sidestep all the worthless gizmos out there...

Buy this book. It'll help you avoid the nagging feeling that you've been made a sucker by a recent purchase.
Book is concise, well written(he's an educator) and flows very well through complex subject matter, making it easy to understand. You'll be finished and wiser in just a few confidence inspiring hours...

Words. Can't. Describe.

It is a sad day when you do not buy into the mantra of Self-Help books. You believe you were made for more, but find it impossible to follow the propositions pandered in the communities that surround you. You feel lonely, you feel drowned out by the screams of the ignorant.

I offer; Hope.
Listen to this book, and allow YOUR MIND to comprehend its teachings, instead of taking "their" word for it.

I began my enlightenment with "The Magic of Thinking Big", and slowly read through the other major self help books. I was looking for a world view that not only aligned with my desires, but which also did not contradict my understanding of the physical world.

The closest I came was "The Singularity Principle", which honestly swooned me due to my fragile and limited knowledge of Quantum Physics. I was not suited to discredit its teachings. However, as is with most teachings created to further an agenda, said book desperately misrepresents the connection between desire, and reality.

"Is This WiFi Organic?" is the current carbide spear-head of Dave Farina's world changing presence. I would argue no other person is as suited for the Battle of Pseudoscience as Dave.

As this book is a suitable intro to Dave's style of teaching and confrontation. If you are so brave, I would highly recommend surveying his YouTube channel. This man is a trailblazer.

Breath of Fresh Air

Coming from a family who believe in mysticism in one form of another, this is a very refreshing book to listen to. It is great to hear that the world has rules and that things can be measured. That modern science has not proven that our conscious observations manipulate reality.

Not sure how many true believers in mysticism will be impacted by this book, but it great for those of us who have to deal with these believers on a regular basis.

So much more than what the funny title indicates.

I've been a fan of the author for quite some time now, and I jumped on the book as soon as I saw it on Audible. Now that I'm done with it I can gladly say that it was an easy and fun listening experience.

The information and entertainment Dave Farina has shared for years online through Youtube is absolutely marvelous, and now much of that has been condensed into this splendid book. This is one of those books that I'll recommend to everyone - simply because it leaves you with much of the knowledge and wisdom needed to deal with the chaos and misinformation of modern life.

It addresses woo peddlers

It’s a clear take down off Woo peddlers. Helpful for the next time that someone try’s to tell you about their water that has positive vibrations.

Though I did feel guilty for buying the book and putting money in Daves pocket as he seemed to have an anti capitalist bent in the book.

Requires Nonexistant Supplemental Material

The overall presentation of the subject matter was great. However, there are references to images and formulae which are only able to be viewed in the Kindle and Physical versions of the book. There IS a method of giving access to supplemental PDFs, as is found with other scientific/historical Audiobooks, and I'm very surprised there is no such option available with this title in particular.

Dave eviscerates alternative medicine

Dave is the king of plain language debunking. This book eviscerates alternative medicine by teaching the tiniest bit of basic chemistry. Given the title, I wish he'd taken the Organic industry to task a little bit more. It was sort of a short book, there was room for more. Hopefully Dave will write more.

One mistake I caught was that, in discussing marijuana, schedule 1 drugs were conflated with "the most addictive" which is not how the classification works. The classification is actually "no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse" which fit marijuana at the time of its classification into schedule 1. The high potential for abuse is still there. This isn't contradicted by its being less addictive than other substances in the same class.
