Thrilling mixture of story, music and sound

I loved everything about Iron Dogs. The story pulled me right in from the start, from the exciting shootouts to the mystery of the town. I found myself rooting for Cole, Frank and Red the most, and Ivan brought great comic relief at just the right times. The Strigoi is a unique and terrifying monster and I had no idea how the characters would deal with such an unstoppable foe. The final showdown is epic. I loved all the attentions to detail in this world, and it truly came to life in my mind's eye, especially with the fantastic music and sound effects! This is my new favorite audiobook. Will listen again soon!

Started out as a read, then a listen!

Throughly enjoyed “Iron Dogs” in book and audio. It kept me gripped the entire time!

A wicked horror thriller

I wish all audibles had the performance aspect! The atmosphere of an old western, along with great characters, kept me on the edge of my seat. Check this out, you will not be disappointed. I loved the actors, sounds, plot, and western horror feel.

Great story and very entertaining!

This story is definitely far from my usual story that I normally listen to ! This story has action, suspense, intrigue, mystery and some horror and I thought it was a fantastic story. This story is extremely well written,narrated and very entertaining. I wasn’t sure what to expect but this story have me from the beginning and I found that I didn’t want to put it down.
The narrator does a great job with the characters and voices of each character making it easy to distinguish between the characters. I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait for by this author.

Very glad I stuck with this gem

Best to start with the bad here: this almost became the first book I’ve ever returned. When I started this book the extra audio elements were unexpected, unwanted and dang near unacceptable. Think radio play with, thankfully, one narrator. Swelling music, back ground room sounds, horse hooves.
The good: The narrator is nimble and very talented, bringing so much personality to each character. I couldn’t knock his work hence giving the overall four stars rather than performance. The background noises became easier to deal with after the first few chapters and actually kind of grew on me.
The great: I love western horror and I absolutely recommend this book if you do as well. Heck even if you’re a fan of regular westerns, male friendships, civil war content, I would recommend. I found the characters to be complex and the perspective unique. Big big thumbs up to the author.

Took a chance and got a good story! Didn’t love the background sounds. It’s distracting.

Just In Time For Christmas

I appreciated the author narrating his own written word. There is an obvious personal connection to the text. A story that captivates. Although it is a story, maybe best released before Halloween, it is better lye than never, and can’t fail as a gift for the horror lover in your life.

Surprised

If anyone, like me, enjoys the niche genre of horror-western, this is for you. Also, if I can spread the word for a little-known author, whose book I thoroughly enjoy, I will do so. So, do yourself a favor, and listen to this audiobook, and support this author!

A great western/horror combo!

Not only is this very well written western, but it has an excellent monster that I have yet to meet. I’m only on chapter 20… The characters are complex and believable and sympathetic. And most surprising of all for me, is the narrator. I have never enjoyed a book where the narrator has been the author no matter how well written, I have yet to find an author who succeeds as a narrator. That is until this book. this one truly has it all I highly recommend iron dogs. It’s a truly great book and I can’t wait to get through all of it.. It’s gonna be a long night… Because I still don’t feel an urge to stop I really do wanna meet this monster, and find out if they can face it! Get this book it’s worth it!
