Publisher's summary

Can a wee bit of Irish charm save an injured soldier from his wrenching heartache?

Injured ex-soldier Kane Taylor has lost everything—the job he loves, the use of his trigger hand, and the love of his life. Moving to remote Donegal in Ireland to repair the lost links with his deceased partner’s ancestors is the only thing keeping his memories alive.

Publican Declan McCafferty has everything—a job he loves, a community he adores, and a revolving door of lovers. But when he sets eyes on the new sexy, brooding regular customer at his pub staring solemnly into his Guinness night after night, Declan realises he needs one more thing—him.

Kane isn’t ready to give himself to another man, but the charismatic and charming publican is hard to resist. Can a fling be such a bad thing?

It is when Declan discovers Kane is the only man in his life he’s not willing to let go.

Irish Charm (Flying into Love #3) is a contemporary hurt/comfort, opposites attract, MM romance featuring an ex-military alpha male recovering from heartache and a cheeky Irish publican allergic to commitment.

Good story. Good narration.

I enjoy CF White's book series. The one-shot stories are a nice read, but you don't get a chance to see the characters evolve in the same way as the longer series. This book was a nice blend of the two because we get a story about a small town bartender who just happens to be from the London Lies series. You don't need to read the series to get to know Declan, but if you did, you will get a chance to see his story.

As usual the narration was by Piers Ryman was wonderful, and I am looking forward to the next audiobook in this themed series of standalone books.

unexpected love

Brilliant performance by Piers Ryman. Loved these 2 men and how they found unexpected love. The characters are real and raw and well written. So excited there are other stories in this world. I just bought Fletcher's story and look forward to listening to those books.

Wonderfully entertaining

This audiobook had everything and I absolutely loved it. No unnecessary angst, but a wonderful back story with a hint of sadness culminating in a wonderful opportunity to love again.

Ooof!

Story: This book is much more serious than the others in the series, but so good! It's a great switch, with plenty of well written healing and hurt / comfort vibes that gripped my heart and didn't let go.
The chemistry between the MCs was palpable and I love them both to pieces!
Narration: Not one issue in sight. I am always amazed at the craft Piers Ryman exhibits!

a beautiful hurt/comfort story

Irish Charm is a beautiful hurt/comfort story amidst the backdrop of a gorgeous Irish countryside. It has been 4 years since Kane’s partner passed in the same incident that left him heavily scarred and he now has recovered both physically and emotionally enough that Kane goes on a pilgrimage of sorts to where Cian was born and raised. The first person he meets is Declan, pub owner. Their attraction is mutual and immediate but Kane has a lot to work through as he visits all the places Cian used to talk about and meeting his parents. Declan who, by his own admission, has never been tempted for more with someone, finds himself falling hard and fast and worried Kane is still too tied up in his feelings for Cian that he won’t be able to return the depth of what he’s feeling. It’s an absolutely gorgeous story, and I highly recommend the audiobook as well. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book but purchased the audio because I loved it so much.

Lovely

Made me want to book a flight to Ireland. I’ve spent time in a small Irish village and loved the pub culture.

A wounded warrior finds redemption.

I loved Irish Charm when I read the book with my eyes last month and I loved it even more when I listed to the audiobook. I love listening to Piers Ryman perform C F White’s words and I really enjoyed his Irish accent in this story. There isn’t anything more that I can say about the audiobook that I didn’t say when I reviewed the ebook so that review can be found below.

Original Review:
Kane is really struggling. His partner, Cian, (they weren’t out) died after an ambush to steal medical supplies he was protecting. Kane was badly injured trying to save Cian. He’s lived with guilt for over 4 years and now he is trying to move on by visiting the people who were close to Cian.

Declan McCafferty owns a pub in Cian’s home town in Ireland. Ever since his first love broke his heart, Declan doesn’t do relationships. He has a long line of one-and-done lovers and that’s the way he likes it…until Kane Taylor walks into his bar. Now he knows what it feels like to be on the wrong side of the one-and-done because he fell for Kane – fast and hard. Kane also fell quickly for Declan but he still has a lot of baggage he must deal with before he can even consider having a relationship with Declan.

I loved everything about this story. It broke my heart in places but it was put back together again by the end of the story. C F White fans will enjoy the connection this book as to her London Lies series but you don’t have to have read that one before reading Irish Charm.

The Flying Into Love books are connected only by theme so they can be read in any order. I’m looking forward to reading the next book: Aussie Sun, coming soon!

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request and my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Charmed

I’ve adored every book in the Flying into Love series and this one was no exception. I love opposites attract. I love hurt/comfort. Most of all, I love Irishmen. I’m part Irish, so I’ve got reasons to have a soft spot in my heart for them.

Declan was just the quintessential pub owner – and all-around great guy. When Brit Kane shows up in his pub, Declan makes it his mission to figure out why the outsider’s so broody. Then he decides he’s going to cheer Kane up.

Kane’s got serious issues. As attracted as he is to the bar owner, he’s on a mission of sorts that needs to be accomplished before he can try to move on with his shattered life. Without his therapy cat and the help of his sister, though, he’s a little lost.

Now, of course they get together. And of course they had problems. And of course I got my happy ending. And of course I was left smiling and thrilled I’d listened. I felt all warm and gooey inside – in a good way.

I’ll mention Piers Ryman who did a fantastic job narrating this book. I can’t wait for the next project with these two – whatever it is, I’ll snap it up.

Home to Donegal!

CF White is bringing us all over the world with this wonderful series, and this time the destination is one of my favourite places on earth, the luscious, green County of Donegal, in Ireland! Not only the mind’s eyes have their fill, following Declan while he shows Kane around his wonderful part of Ireland, but the ears have their fair share of pleasure with Declan pub being always full of patrons singing Irish folk songs!!!
The book is a true hurt/comfort one. Kane is so heartbroken, especially for the first part of the book, it hurts to read, and the writing sort of mirrors this heavier feeling: it’s more melancholic, more introspect and sombre than the other books in the series, but it lightens up as the story progresses and Declan starts to work his magic, his Irish Charm on Kane.
For those of you who have read the London Lies series, we have Fletcher and Jackson make their appearance, as Declan is none other than Fletcher’s childhood best friend.

Kane & Declan

This is a beautiful story. Kane is full of pain and anguish that he gets help recovering from after meeting Declan. Both men have issues from the past that haunt their present. Following them as they develop a friendship that transitions to more made for a great story. When you add in the narration by Piers Roman, the experience was even better.
