It's a "buy and hold u can't time the market" book

The book isn't bad, it just goes against the principles of what I've learned and studied as an active investor. It's a short book at 1 hr and 40 minutes, but around 20 minutes in, I threw in the towel.

I thought the book would have some insight on how to survive a bear market, but it literally says to hold on to your losses because they bounce back. "Find good companies" it says. I honestly don't see UPST, PTON, SNAP, DOCU, PINS, TDOC, SE, and some of the other stocks that got absolutely wrecked coming back. They might be "good companies" but I don't see them coming back to all time highs any time soon.

It was basically a "you can't time the market so it's better to just dollar cost average" strategy book. I guess it was designed to be a book for the average common investor that doesn't follow the market on a regular. But I keep up with market activities daily, and there are ways you can look to time the market to put the probabilities in your favor.
