Action-Packed Conclusion

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review:

5/5 for this action-packed conclusion of the Powers Legacy series!

The reader has different voices for the characters (admittedly, I found 2 or 3 to be a bit similar, but not to the point where it became confusing), and more importantly the emotions of the characters are clearly and sensibly voiced in Cole Eubanks' intonations. The narration really helps in bringing this final book to life.

Starr Davies does a good job in this conclusion tying up loose ends and questions from throughout the series, while simultaneously taking the reader on a trip of ever-increasing tension and action. This is the type of book that would make a cool movie backed with a large SFX team. And yet, the heart of the characters and story are not lost. There were a few minor side plots that I wish had gotten a bit more time, but doing so would likely have detracted from the pacing of the story. Honestly, it's easy to forget and forgive those as one gets swept away in the main storyline.

If you've read the other three books in the series, you'll no doubt pick this one up. If you haven't, know that this story is not a standalone, and is the culmination of the series relying upon those others. If you, however, are reading this review in order to decide whether or not to start the series based on whether the finale is worth the journey or is a complete flop, I strongly recommend you pick up Desolation and start moving through this Powers Legacy series. You won't be disappointed!

Thrilling Conclusion

The fourth and last book of the "Powers Legacy" series was great. The story focused on the preparations for war, and then the actual war itself. The ending was both exciting and filled with action. Paige's trials exceeded expectations. I was so happy to see her character growth. I really liked Gavin's role in the whole series. Cole Robert Eubanks' narration style and performance enhanced the entertainment of the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

As Dominic is determined to take over using Paige, Paige fights an inner battle to take back her control and her powers as a whole. A series worth checking out.

Does it really have to end?

Excellent audiobook! Fantastic execution and a Wow of an ending. The war was seriously well written. Paige's inner struggle felt organic and flowed seamlessly without feeling contrived or being a slog to get through. This whole series has been a heck of a ride and thoroughly enjoyable. I can't wait to recommend this to my daughters (my son doesn't share our love of books) so I can hear them rave about it too.

I received a free code in exchange for an honest review. I honestly want to know why this book and every book in this series doesn't have over 200 reviews yet. Super engaging, entertaining and a lot of fun. Starr Z. Davies is now an insta buy for me. How's that for honesty?

An epic, visual series ending feast

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Narrated by Cole Robert Eubanks, whose magnetic performance absolutely makes Invasion among the series ending stories to remember. As Dominic makes his greatest stand to conquer Elpis and the world over, Paige becomes even more desperate and determined to break free of the man's mental hold upon her and take her anger and hatred out on Dominic and his forces. Breaking free as a continuous torture that threatens to consume Paige as Dominic becomes ever more abusive towards her and the captured tributes to keep his plans going; the consequences alone tears at Paige's sanity. Once the war explodes, it's a visceral dance of whom can outlast the other's skills; but beneath the main battle as a whole another much more prominent war that will truly decide of Paige's destructive powers can ultimately channeled into something beneficial.

Highly recommended.
