Publisher's Summary

A massive truck bomb detonates outside the gates of Downing Street. Passenger jets are blasted out of the sky. Jihadi terror attacks kill thousands. London is plunged into chaos and death.

In a fortified bunker beneath Whitehall, British Prime Minister Harry Beecham can barely catch his breath. Family and friends are dead. All communications are down, any semblance of government lost. All he can do now is run, escape the city before it falls.

Escorted by a small team of SAS soldiers, Harry and his team must fight their way out of London and get to the secure government complex in the west of the country, try and get a handle on the situation, but it's far worse than Harry could possibly imagine.

As the invasion gathers pace and England buckles before the military onslaught, Harry and his team are forced to abandon their HQ and head far to the north, where remaining British forces are gathering along an ancient border, digging in deep as they await the final, bloody battle for survival.

Beware

I enjoyed the book and I don’t understand the dislike for the book ? It’s entertaining and was a good listen. If anyone has read the Koran then it would make since especially if you have ever fought isis or even taliban which I think most of the reviewers have not. It’s a book that’s . Good story and narration.

Right wing conspiracy fiction poorly executed.

Do Muslims scare you? Do you think that thier religion prevents them from being loyal citizens of a western democracy? And do you believe that political correctness, diversity, and immigration pose existential threats to western culture? If you answered yes to any of those questions then you will like this book.

Invasion has it all: a caliphate bent on world domination, a Muslim fifth column large to take out a national army and every single police force in the country, misguided liberals whose tolerance and political correctness makes them pawns of terrorists or actual collaborators, and a few clear eyed conservatives who alone see the danger to their society but of course aren’t listened too.

I bought this audiobook because I am a sucker for a good military thriller and the premise seems like it could support a good yarn. While there is some attempt at character development, the setup for the invasion is not well fleshed out. The authors goes from bemoaning political correctness, to describing a few terrorist attacks, a sudden military invasion that takes over Europe almost overnight, and a few valiant rear guard actions of a broken military. Oh, and apparently Muslim communities took out every single police force and Military base in England and Wales almost overnight—although the details of how they did this aren’t well fleshed out.

I like military thrillers that focus on strategy and tactical details. When done well, these details help me suspend disbelief and enjoy the ride. But this book felt like listening to my uncle after his fourth glass of wine at Thanksgiving expound on why we need a wall to keep bad hombres out. Pork rinds and “lock her up” poster not included.

Yuck...

A serious theme in a book that disappoints at every turn. A repository of cliches and doomsday prophecies that overlay what could generously be described as a 'labored' plot.

racism and xenophobia run amok

I wanted to like this title. I found the plot pretty decent. I enjoy this genre and unfortunately that means often times having to stomach some subtle (or not so subtle) conservative preaching (see anything by Forstchen) but this was just too much. Not worth it.

Great read

Great story with unusual and thought provoking script brought to life with excellent narration... whilst I could not put it down, my only criticism is that the ending was a little bit weak.

Started strong, ended meh...

This book started very strong, with good character development but very quickly faded. Making the Muslims the bad guys with a slimy British politician being baited by a honey trap to gain access to war plans was far too predictable. As the book goes on it seems to lurch from one far fetched plot to another. The narrator was decent though.

Thought Provoking

A very good book with an excellent narrator. Highly recommended from a talented author who has slipped under the radar.

A military thriller??

A military thriller?? I'm more of the view that it's the future our children and children's children have as their future.
Unfortunately we are presently seeing the beginnings of the path this book describes.
Is it already to late for our current crop of leaders to alter our present March into oblivion?
