The Golden Gai area in Tokyo's Kabukicho, in Shinjuku Ward, is home to many restaurants and bars.

ゴールデン街は、東京都新宿区の歌舞伎町にある飲食店街です。
花園神社に隣接し、迷路のような路地に、マッチ箱のような小さな飲食店が200軒近く集まっています。
第二次世界大戦後の闇市の屋台から始まり、風俗業の町としても栄えました。1960年ごろからは酒場が増え、新宿ゴールデン街と呼ばれるようになりました。
新宿ゴールデン街には、作家、映画や演劇関係者、ジャーナリストなどが多く集まります。彼らは朝まで酒を飲みながら芸術や文学談義を繰り広げます。
新宿ゴールデン街を舞台にした小説やマンガも多く、ここで酒場を経営していた著名人もたくさんいます。
