Pretty dull

Not as interactive or fun as claimed. Pretty conventional rote method of learning despite in a story telling format. The biggest issue I have is the English translations as the narrator's pronunciation can be difficult to understand for some words. Also, she tries to give you two synonyms without differentiating the two words with an "or". So often, it's hard to tell if they are just synonyms or the actual translation.

Lots of vocab within the stories!

When I searched around, I could only find a few audiobooks on intermediate-level Mandarin. Not only does this book provide a LOT of vocabulary, but it also keeps things entertaining with stories on Chinese culture and other topics. Unlike the beginner-level books, there's much more Mandarin. Each chapter starts with a story, followed by a summary, vocabulary, and then closing questions and answers. I've been listening to the stories on repeat, and found it very helpful that the PDF has all the vocabulary words bolded in the story section.

Loving these Series of Books.

This way of learning is really fun. This book provides you with a PDF that helps you read along. I am becoming more fluent in Chinese by being able to follow along. I finished this book with new found knowledge, also I’m able to identify more Chinese characters.
