Publisher's Summary

Most successful people agree it is largely a person's habits that lead to huge wealth. If you want to discover their inspirational routines continue.

”The question I ask myself every day is, 'Am I doing the most important thing I could be doing?'” (Mark Zuckerberg)

If you carry on acting exactly as you are now, where will you be in 10 years? Will you achieve your goals? This question forces you to look at the current trajectory of your life in relation to your goals. For some this can produce unexpected and unwanted answers. They find out they will not achieve the lifestyle they deserve. This audiobook shows you how to fix this. Discover:

  • The single most powerful word that will save you time and increase profitability (Hint: it's not "work").
  • The most striking differences between how high-achievers operate and the masses.
  • The most effective habits of leaders, entrepreneurs, CEOs, and self-made millionaires.
  • Why working less can actually increase your productivity and wealth.
  • The one asset the rich deem critical and the poor woefully undervalue (Hint: it's not money).

Analyse the success stories of the wealthy and you'll notice common habits that lead to focus and non-linear improvements in productivity. High achievers operate by a different set of rules to the masses, allowing them to work in a more effective and productive dimension. Successful people cultivate good habits that guarantee success, whilst unsuccessful people develop poor habits that lead to failure. In the words of a motivational speaker: “Success is a few simple disciplines, practiced every day.”

And that is good news!

ANYONE, regardless of age, education, or experience can make the changes in this audiobook given a little will power - and even Homer Simpson has the will power to get up and open the fridge! If you want to align your behaviour with the rich and successful, then get this audiobook.

Inspiring and thoughtful book

Even if at the first listen it might look like the usual book on ""change your habits"" I appreciate the author's effort in providing the reader something more pleasing in the subtle way of accompanying the reading with reflections on the meaning of one's life.

Habits wanted

I'm rich, not super rich, but I am one of the most paid managers in my firm, I travel first class, I have a 2000sqft flat in central London, and I rent a 70ft sailboat for summer holidays. Despite what research says about wealth and happiness, I think I'm happy, more than the average guy, and I tend to attribute this to my habits. But I never fully realised that until I read this book. I just thought, like anybody else, I have my routine, my rituals, my boundaries, but there's something very different and specific that makes successful people's habits different from those of anybody else. I'm addicted to personal growth and self-help books and I bought this one out of curiosity, I found it almost embarrassing to recognize in this book many of my habits or those of my colleagues, it's well researched, comprehensive and well written. It made me realise I'm on the right way, and gave me motivation and tips to keep sticking to good habits. Recommended.

Useful insights you can start instantly

Dan Keller lays out the practical science and actionable methods for you to start building positive habits today. I especially liked the section of proven techniques to help you adopt Success-Generating Habits. I performed those strategies immediately and I really started to change my self, my sick routines now start with prolific MORNING ROUTINES(pure gold!!), now the aim is to stick with those new habits and I’m listening again chapter 7 that is very helpful for this goal. Very good methods and examples given in that area. I plan on listening this book again throughout the year!

Also, I don’t understand the other lower reviews as I didn’t find to be true, probably a gloomy competitor trying to distort the real value of this audiobook 😉!

Highly recommended to people looking to change their habits, this book with some other good books on productivity, focus and mind changing are the perfect resources to improve your life! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Easy to Understand. Good introduction for Beginner

Inspirational Habits of the Wealthy collect different theories. It can function as a simple guide for beginners.

Three major critics:
1. The cheat-sheet/ scorecard is basically not useful in Audible version.
2. The writing style is not organized and sometimes off-topic
For example, in the 2nd chapter. The author focus on time management. The main idea is clear: you will never get your wasted time back. However, the paragraph eventually goes to the grandfather paradox, so the way to go back is not possible. Is it a simple idea? Yes, but it is totally not important. None of the readers care whether it is possible to go back or not.
I have read a lot of business/self-help books. I am familiar with most of the experiments/ theories, such as the Stanford marshmallow experiment, China bamboo tree story, etc. However, the writing style still makes me lost.

3. No unique idea.
I like how the author collects a lot of theories and examples. However, the majority of content is what I have ever read. I cannot really say anything is authentic.
If someone asks me: what's the most important idea I got from this book. I cannot really answer.

Taken together, this book is good for beginners. If you have never exposed to self-help books. This book is a good entry point. You will be able to get a lot info and you can dig more on your interested topics.
However, if you are looking for new ideas or want to have a deep understanding of habits. This book is probably not helpful.
=============================================================================================
Tl;dr

Pros:
1. Easy to understand. Good for beginners.
2. Collect a lot of experiments/ theories
3. The narrator is good. A bit robotic in the middle chapters around 3 or 4 (not sure), but most of the time it's clear.

Cons:
1. Audible is probably not the best platform for this book.
2. The writing style is not organized and sometimes it's off-topic
3. Too general, not deep enough. Collect many theories from others. I cannot really get an authentic idea from the book.

Valuable contents and very good narration.

Inspirational Habits of the Wealthy' sets the scene by illustrating how our mindset and habit largely determine our actions and, consequently their success. It then moves on to discuss time, and above all – the value we all place on our time. This chapter acts as a motivator for the rest of the book – which is a discussion and explanation of the common habits shared by successful people.

Mindset and habits go hand in hand!

Inspirational Habits of the Wealthy sets the scene by illustrating how our mindset and habit largely determine our actions and consequently their success. It then moves on to discuss time, and above all – the value we all place on our time. This chapter acts as a motivator for the rest of the book – which is basically a discussion and explanation on the common habits shared by successful people.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and will listen to it again, as I do with other self-help books. I made several pages of notes, which is rare for me, and have a number of postits notes on my PC and fridge 😊

Criticism – if anything, I would prefer the book to be more concise, but that is my personal opinion.
