Beautifully written and moving collection of poetry

This is a beautifully written and moving collection of poetry. It is extremely heartfelt and sincere. The narrator did an amazing job. She was clearly able to express what the author was feeling when she wrote each poem. It was quite impressive and enjoyable to listen to.

I would like to thank the author/narrator/publisher for generously providing me with a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an unbiased and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Raw Emotion, Feeling, Loss, Longing, Love.. :)

It's difficult to really "review" something so personal and subjective, but I truly enjoyed it and thank Jamila for sharing her innermost feelings with us. It's a collection of short and long poems running the spectrum of emotions, loss and sorrow, regret, pain, longing, anger... it runs the gamut. It's real and raw and sweet at times, and I really enjoyed reading/listening to them. Some of my favorites include "Dylan," "Murder," "One Last Request," "Judgment Day," "I Will Remember You," "We Can Overcome," "The Unknown Soldier," "Save Me," "When The Shadows Fade," "Why?," and "When We Were Younger." Great Listen, and inspires me to write more :)

3.5 Stars. Good emotional read.

***3.5 Stars***
Good emotional read. Mikhail expresses emotions we have all wrestled with. Her prose are dark and heart-rending. The emotions in this collection of poetry are heavy. Her publishing them is brave and I applaud her exposing her soul to the world in this way.

Wow, this is super deep.

She definitely has a gift for writing. The poems in this collection have so much emotion in them, it is absolutely amazing.

The narrator captures all of the emotions and then some. Excellence.

Beautiful writing. I'm practically speechless.

I NEVER listen or read poems or poetry, literally EVER. This is nothing like the stuff they show you in school about poetry. I never got anything out of the poetry I was taught in school, thus I hated it.

This collection of poems makes poetry seem highly underrated.
