Publisher's summary

Phillip's brothers, Cameron and Ethan, are now happily married. The family boat-building business is starting to thrive. And the Quinns are closer than ever to keeping Seth permanently protected from his errant mother, who would sell her own son rather than loving him the way the Quinns do.

Phillip Quinn understands Seth's troubled past. He has the scars from his own rough and tumble childhood on the streets of Boston. He spent his days stealing and his nights doing anything to make a fast buck.

Now he's a high-powered advertising executive who favors Armani suits and rare wines. When he meets educated, cultured Sybill, he figures he's found his perfect match. And when he discovers she has a family connection to young Seth, they join forces to secure the boy's future.

The saga continues: Pay another visit to Chesapeake Bay.

One Word WOW!

What a neat series this has been. Although some of the subject matter was somewhat repulsive. It was so proficiently put together that it drew me right into the stories. Which in turn kept me looking forward to the next book. Gee hard to believe there are such self serving women running around. Makes a person want to rid the world of them and the perverts they associate with. Both Guy Lemonier and David Stuart were perfect for the narration of each story. As for Nora Roberts she certainly doesn't need me to tell her what a talented writer she is. All she needs do is read her own books. Then go read one of these new authors who try to create their stories with smutty sex scenes, Please do not misunderstand A well done sex scene is not in the least offensive. But crying out loud not when they are half of the damn book? They are certainly not for me or people with my taste.

Horrible narrator

Would you try another book from Nora Roberts and/or Guy Lemonier?

I love Nora Roberts and usually her books translate very well to audio. I'll certainly listen to another of her books. However, I will actively avoid listening to a book narrated by Guy Lemonier.

What didn’t you like about Guy Lemonier’s performance?

He was voiced was rushed with little to no inflection. It was difficult to tell the difference between women, men and children. The sex scenes were just torturous.

Any additional comments?

It's difficult for me to comment on the book itself when the narrator made it so difficult to enjoy the characters and the story. I just wanted it to hurry up and end.

Great NR book as usual

Great book but narrator terrible, could not distinguish between the characters, should consider using Joyce Bean, Rene Raudman or Dick Hill.

Inner Harbor

What did you love best about Inner Harbor?

I first read the story of the Quinn's a few years ago. I wanted to hear Philip's story on audio to decide whether to buy the other books. I have never visited the Chesapeake Bay area, but the book makes you feel like you would love to live there.

What other book might you compare Inner Harbor to and why?

All the Quinn books are great and I would relate them to many of Nora Roberts series' books. They are easy to read and pulls you in to the story. If I would compare this book to another author, I would say either Catherine Coulter or Suzanne Brockmann.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The narrator was good. He was very fluent and was confident in his speaking. It would have been better if they had added a female narrator for the ladies' voices. It would have made listening more memorable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

On a weekend day, I would like to sit back and listen. Otherwise, I would take it a chapter at a time.

Phillip's story

Number three in this saga is more than a great love story. More of the background of the characters is explained. While Cameron 's story is sad, and Ethan's story is bad we find that Phillip's story is bad, sad but triumphant as well. We also get to the villain's sorry tale. Guy Lemonier did little to enhance the story but could not destroy Nora Robert's beautiful told tale of love, hate, and greed..

Horrible narrator!!!

Sea Swept and Rising Tides were pretty good, but the narrator in this one was the worst I've ever heard. I felt like he was racing to get to the end. Just awful. I'm listening to Chesapeake Blue now, and it is the best narration of the four books. All of the stories are good. You may just find yourself shaking your head, though, hearing the poor performance of this narrator.

Easy Listening

The Quinn Brothers series follows the usual romance format but in this case the main characters do have a bit of an edge. All three male protagonists had a harsh start in life and suffered childhood violence, sexual abuse or gang life. Brought together by their adopted father's death and his dying wish that they care for a fourth adopted brother, a ten year old boy named Seth who none of them know well, Cam, Ethan and Phil must work together to restructure their lives and prevent Seth being returned to life of negligence and cruelty. Along the way they must they must clear their father's name and, as befitting of a Nora Roberts novel, negotiate happiness with the love of their lives.

The narrator's easy drawl adds to the tone of the story and although the characters are involving this is very easy listening. No major twist coming your way, everything does end happily ever after (it's a romance novel after all)!

Be warned though, no mysteries are laid to rest until the third book Inner Harbor and the Quinn Brothers swear - a lot! You may want to use headphones for this one!

Fabulous.

I have enjoyed this trilogy so much I have listen to the twice. My only criticism is, I didn't like the narrator, I felt he was too stilted.
