Publisher's Summary

It's everything but business as usual.

Emmie Elliot hadn't expected to come back to Metlin, California. She definitely didn't expect to stay. She returned to her childhood home with a mission: Sell the building that housed her grandmother's book store and move on with her life. But life doesn't always go according to plan. To reopen her grandmother's book shop, Emmie will need a hook. She'll need a strategy. She'll need an...Ox?

Miles Oxford doesn't have much interest in quiet bookstore owners. He's a tattoo artist without a space to work, and the last thing he wants is to get involved with anyone after his last disaster of a relationship. Work and pleasure don't mix for Ox, but since he doesn't have any interest in the cute girl with the bold business proposal, he should be safe from any awkward complications, right?

She sells ink. He tattoos it. Unusual? Yes. But a book shop/tattoo studio might be the ticket for both Emmie and Ox to find success on their own terms. As long as they keep their attention focused on business. Just on business.

Contains mature themes.

So in love!

Never have I ever wanted to be in the book more than I have reading this book. All I want to do now is go to INK and become friends with everyone in this book. I want the tattoos from Spider and Ox. I want to pick the brain of Emmie on the next book I should read. And all the book related shirts need to be available to purchase as well. I just loved this book so much and I want so much more of the characters and I can not wait to read the next book. I really think Elizabeth Hunter is truly amazing with her characters, stories, and this book is now one of my favorite. Even though it’s hard to say that since I love all her books, there is just something about this one that makes me so sad I am not best friends with Emmie.

Ok

This is a nice time out by Hunter. The characters are likable enough, though it feels like they were decided upon more for commercial reasons - chosen from some “trending” list of socially desired attributes. I like her Scribe series better, but still wouldn’t mind one or two more in this series. I like this author enough that I’ve purchased some of her other series to read.

I had loved the book and really enjoyed the narration. It was my first Elizabeth Hunter novel but not my first audbile version. It was a pleasant surprise and felt like I was getting to know the characters all over again.

I really enjoyed this book

I usually like a little paranormal with my romance, but this book was so good. Characters were interesting and well developed. Great book for a road trip alone.

Simply charming.

This book made my heart flutter with the beauty of their relationship and the shop that was being created. Overall impression: swoon worthy and simply charming.

Characters are solid. Plotline is easy going with little suspense- good for a light read. Narration was great.

Overall very enjoyable buuuuut....

Over all, this was a very enjoyable story. It’s fairly well written, the characters have depth, are interesting and likable. My one beef is the way the ranch issues are addressed. The reality is, much of this is just inevitable ranch life. Things go wrong, cows get out, weather doesn’t cooperate etc. female. Emmy doesn’t approach it in the best way. Instead of saying “I can’t count on you” making it about money, she needed to say “there needs to be an active plan for a long term solution that divides labor in a sustainable way” It’s one thing for help to be needed when something bigger happens, like the rock slide, but there shouldn’t BE 6 hours of regular chores to be done by him daily. Yes yes, they resolve the issue in the end. And they do resolve that aspect well. But it irritates me when people write about ranch life without really understanding it. And it bothers me when people don’t agree the real issue in a fight

Sweet and Sexy

A narrator can make or break a story, Melissa Moran did a great job bringing the characters to life. The allure, tension and anticipation are very well written into the story, and I enjoyed the playful development between the two main characters.
