Graça, the spoiled daughter of a wealthy sugar baron, is clever, well-fed, pretty, and thrillingly ill-behaved. Born to wildly different worlds, Dores and Graça quickly bond over shared mischief and then, on a deeper level, over music. One has a voice like a songbird; the other feels melodies in her soul and composes lyrics to match. Music will become their shared passion, the source of their partnership and their rivalry....

Publisher's Summary
If you love The Great Gatsby, you'll want to listen to the Flappers series.
Power...love...scandal...there’s never enough to go around. In the city that never sleeps, Lorraine Dyer is wide awake. Ever since she exposed Clara Knowles for the tramp she was - and lost her closest confidante in the process - Lorraine has spent every second scheming to make her selfish, lovesick ex-best friend pay for what she did. No one crosses Lorraine. Not even Gloria.
True love conquers everything - or so Gloria Carmody crazily believed. She and Jerome Johnson can barely scrape together cash for their rent, let alone have a moment to whisper sweet nothings in the dark. And if they thought escaping Chicago meant they’d get away with murder...they were dead wrong. Clara was sure that once handsome, charming Marcus Eastman discovered her shameful secret, he’d drop her like a bad habit. Instead, he swept her off her feet and whisked her away to New York. Being with Marcus is a breath of fresh air - and a chance for Clara to leave her wild flapper ways firmly in the past. Except the dazzling parties and bright lights won’t stop whispering her name...
Ingenue is the second novel in the sexy, dangerous, and ridiculously romantic Flappers series set in the Roaring Twenties...where revenge is a dish best served cold.

Love, adventure, and drama
I posi-lutely love this series! When I read the first book, I had a hard time getting into it until Gloria and Jerome started falling for each other as well as Clara and Marcus. I found the whole rich lifestyle and stuffy, grandiose parties boring, but this book had so much more!
Gloria's life has totally changed from when she lived in Chicago. She now lives in New York with Jerome and all the while she has to steal and hide to make it. Lorraine is now in charge of a speakeasy in New York called The Opera House. Clara lives in New York in Brooklyn Heights and she's working hard to stay away from her old flapper ways while Marcus lives in Manhattan wishing she would move up there near him. Vera and Evan come to New York to find Jerome and Gloria to warn them that a murderer is on the loose looking for them!
Jobs are what causes monumental changes in the characters' lives. Lorraine is actually working for Macarelli and trying to lure Gloria and Jerome into an act that may be their last. Clara starts working for the Manhattanite- a magazine where she is a gossip columnist, this thrust her back into her old flapper ways and breaks Marcus' heart. Jerome and Gloria take a job at the Opera House with no idea that they have walked right in a trap!
On Gloria's debut night, will it be curtains for her and Jerome?

Story
Kitty Tessler is the winsome and clever only child of self-made hotel and nightclub tycoon Nicolas Tessler. Kitty may not have the same pedigree as the tennis club set she admires, but she still sees herself as every inch the socialite - spending her days perfecting her "look" and her nights charming all the blue-blooded boys. It seems like the fun will never end until Kitty's father issues a terrible ultimatum: she may no longer date the idle rich. Instead, Kitty must marry Andre, her father's second-in-command, and take her place as the First Lady of his hotel empire.
